The tapestry fabric I bought 2 weeks ago for $7.49 a yard that I am going to use for a new Doublet for my son-in-law. I have a lovely decorator weight fabric that I am going to use for the lining to make the Doublet reversible. I bought 5 1/2 yards of this fabric. I have a bone colored piping that I am going to finish it with. Gold Buttons with a maroon center and loops.

The Venetians are going to made out of a Chocolate Brown Medium Wale Corduroy. A flat cap will be made out of the remaining corduroy.

Lovely fabric.  That would be great trim or boarders!

Anna Iram

I love that fabric! Have fabric envy.  :) Really looking forward to seeing that doublet come together.

Agreed,  Syrilla , I have some fabric stashed with that kind of use in mind for "one day I'll try that" but this looks ready made for the job.

Lady Rebecca

One of my coworkers is a fabric hoarder, and she invited me over to raid her stash. I visited on Friday, and left with a few yards of blue striped cotton, a couple yards of canvas duck, a ton and a half of ribbon, lace, crocheted lace, hem tape lace, a cameo pendant, and about 15 metal buttons. All for free! :)

Has anyone ever had a fabric trading party?  With this group it should be the party of the century! :o

Wouldn't THAT be awesome?!?!?  :D  If we could all get our fabrics in the same state at the same time, I'm sure everyone would leave happy!

So, we all know the clerks at JoAnn's are totally enablers, right?

Sometimes, the linen & linen-look fabrics at 30% off excludes the "Sew Classics"
and that is always in the smallest print, so I missed it. Along with one pattern
at $1.99, a $2. roll of ribbon and a $5. remnant, check-out was nearly $80!  Ouch!

The darling cashier grabs a 50% coupon out of the trash, and I pay less than $40.
Woo-Hooo!

Joann's has text coupons now.  As long as you have the coupon codes on your phone you can use them as many times as you want.  Many times we have given the code to the lady next to us when she is a few cents short or a huge bill.   It pays to be nice to people.  ;D

Text coupons now... And how does one get on this list? Please do share.
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

2 ways  #1: on the back of the sent out coupons there is a place that says "Send a txt to XXX with the code XXXX" and they will text you back the coupon code.
#2:  Is to click on the "send coupons to my phone" link on the emails that have coupons.  You put in your number (you don't get spam that way)  and they text you the coupon codes that way.

Sometimes you can use the code in conjunction with the paper coupons.  ;D
One day the PP surprised me with a trip to Joann's and I was put out I didn't have my paper coupons on me.  I looked in my text long, and bingo I had a 40% one that was going out the next day.  Pretty handy. not to mention enableing.

I don't know if the PP was going to kill me or not when I brought home 3 large tubs of fabric that our friends mother gave.  Once I looked through the 'treasure' trove he has no right to complain.   We got about 7 yards of royal purple good quality velvetine that he wants for his next outfit. There is enough there to make not only him an outfit but for me to use on a dress for me, and the fuzzlet.  We might actually have to have a family picture taken in it ... that is if I can get it made.
Oh and about 6 yards of high quality silk satin.  No to mention 2-3 yard lengths of various statins and such.  He didn't think I had room for all of it.  I had organized my room so my fabrics are in by color boxes.  Now they are in by color tubs.  I didn't loose any space at all.  Long live fabricholics, we ALWAYS have have room for more fabric!

I will send you the picture when I get home! I found some purple and silver damask 6 yards! I really can't wait to see this fabric, and if I ever get a Peerage in the SCA this is the fabric I will make my gown in, (not like this will ever happen but one can have dreams eh?)

Due to coupon commotion the framing guy was working the front register at Joanns.   When he rang up my purchase before coupons it was $200 bucks, and after I handed him the stack of coupons (instore + email+ flyer + text)  we walked out with all of it for $90 bucks.   The guy had trouble picking up his jaw from the floor.  He wanted to know how I did that.  I simply told him, "Fabricolics know how to take advantage of coupons.)

I got enough fabric & notions for 5 dresses, not a bad deal when buying them was $30 bucks each at least.

Lady Stitch, that coupon commotion is great, isn't it? Last year at Christmas I ended up with so many coupons that I saved almost twice as much money than I ended up spending! (So I saved like $100 and ended up paying about $40.)  The PR folks complain that JoAnn's prices are inflated to begin with, to make the discounts seem more appealing, but I don't know what they're comparing it to. Prices at JA seem much lower overall than the alternative--the high-end fabric stores!
