Feel free to move if in wrong place.

I sat on my husband's oil cloth coat today and now I have a "stain" on my leather skirt!  :o  Does anyone know how to get this out?  Should I just take it to be professionally cleaned?  Thank you!

From what I've heard, once the oil sets in the only thing you can do is put oil on the rest of it to match.  But I dont know if it can be cleaned out.  Hope you find a way.

So I managed to find the only licensed leather cleaner in West TN, and his dry cleaning store is down the street from me!
This is for those of you with husbands with oil cloth coats...  ::)
The entire garment has to be submerged in a degreasing solution.  Depending on the type of leather (pig, cow, etc.), color, and how bad and different color the stain is you will get varying results.  It only costs $15, that's the good part.  He only gave it a 30% chance, that's the bad part.  But like I told him I now have a very expensive skirt that I can't wear!  He did say that from his experience he thinks it will work.  So I find out on Thursday.
If he gets the stain out but the color of the leather turns he said I can buy Rid dye and stain it back myself.  He can't because the town his shop is in (leather, not cleaners) won't allow it.  But I am in another town.
Wish me luck (or the leather guy, I suppose)!  :-X

Took a little longer than we thought but I picked up the skirt yesterday and not only was the stain gone but the skirt color hadn't changed!  I was SOOO pleased!
If anyone in the Memphis, TN area ever needs their leather cleaned take it to Sam Wolfe at Hometown Custom Cleaners in Somerville, TN, 901-465-2879.  ;)
