Lady Renee Buchanan

I wore my pirate boots today.  It was a co-worker's 40th birthday, and we decided to wear black, so I wore a black sweater and then thought, hey, my boots are black, so I wore them, too.

And my coworkers saw them and knew what they were.  One said, "Oh, look, Renee's got on her pirate boots," since I've worn them before. I am the only pirate in the company.  And they know that!

I usually wear my ren boots with black jeans about once a week to work because they're black.

I need no excuse at all to wear one o muh kilts, and I wear them often...to dinner, clubs, karaoke (haven't lived till youve seen "Sweet Transvestite" performed by a tipsy, kilt-clad squirrel lord in a Pasadena, Maryland dive), Weight Watchers meetings, DuClaw, Ramshead Tavern, et al.

My Jacobite shirts work well with jeans.

I made some simple chainmail stuff (a coif and a few neck chains) on my last tour out.  The boys in my platoon were all but jumping for me to show up in a hauberk one day instead of my usual kevlar body armor.  As fun and hilarious as it would've been, I declined.  A skull-and-crossbones print bandanna under my helmet is about as far as I'll go.

My faire jewelry and everyday jewelry are the same, no difference, worn everyday.

I wear my skirts all the time in the summer with tank tops! Best thing ever!   ;D

I've even worn my snoods to work under protest to keep from getting hairnets!

Purses also go under jewelry, used everyday!

my striped socks and tights, as much as possible!    :o

And I keep a dagger in my purse for protection, but no one needs to know shhh!       ;)

We watched Prince Caspian last night and quickly decided that we needed to be armed while sitting on the couch.  A dagger and a stiletto came off the wall and we have several swords fight throughout the evening.

I'll somtimes wear my bog shoes as house slippers.  If it's cold enough I'll wear my kilt hose when I wear trousers.

Not much of my garb can be passed as mundane, but I have rope sandals that get worn just about everywhere.  And when I'm bumming around the house, I'll usually throw on a skirt or chemise (or both and answer the door to find some door-to-door giving me strange looks. :D)

Of course, there's also the days that I go out in complete garb just because.

None of my garb can be passable for mundane public wearing, but many of the "props" that I have I'll commonly use.  My props are traditional tools, and many of them work better then the modern ones!

I Also keep my flannel lined wool cloak in my car to use as a blanket when needed.

My dreamshoes from TRF are so comfortable that I wear them when working the credit card station at NTIF.
