Strange encounters at faire

A few years ago, after camping at TRF, a close friend of mine told me about a strange encounter she had while on her way to the privies at night.  She told me that as she was walking, she started to see a bunch of small creatures with, I think, the bodies of children and the faces of old men.  They began to follow her, and she became rather nervous--while she believed she was rather receptive to spirits, she normally tried to repress it.  I forget the rest of what she said, but the thing that got me was that she was genuinely spooked.

It's been a long time since she told me that story, but I still think about it sometimes, and I've been dying to know what other strange events have happened to you all.  Has anyone heard a story similar to my friend's at TRF?  What kinds of ghost stories have you all heard at faire?  What genuinely weird things have happened to you?

It's interesting that that happened at TRF...I have a friend who encountered creatures that meet that description down in San Leon, which is on the coast just north of Galveston.  He described them as sort of dwarven, even took us to the area where he saw them.  I felt all sorts of creepy sensations when we went out there....
Never experienced anything at TRF though.

I have to admit, I have also seen those creature at TRF. I saw them on my way back from a friends camp one morning early. I was not afraid of them, nor them of me. They seemed more curious of everything that was going on than anything, and I got an almost "protective" vibe from them. I have never heard anyone else mention seeing them until now, so I never really said anything to anyone. But, even though I do not know what they are, I think they are there to look after things.

Here in TN we call them opossums
