The Paned Slops that go with the Spanish Doublet ensemble I am doing for Friar Rohn's nephew. I have a few minor adjustments to make, then make the Modesty Panels for the Doublet. The Doublet will have grommets at the side seam for side lacing.

The Paned Slops. There are heavy hooks and eyes that alternated for the front.

Trim detailing. A simple, yet elegant trim for the center of each pane, finished with a Black Piping. I am a nut for piping. Piping adds such elegance to Doublets, SLops, women's clothing, etc.

OOOOOh. really nice job.

Thank you Dona Catalina.

I enjoy making paned slops. They are not as difficult as they look. But it did take me some wrangling to figure out the top spacing of the panes to where they situate at the bottom when I made the Earl his first pair over 7 years ago. i made a notation on the pattern from Fantasy Fashions that I use so that I would  always remember.

oohhh, yum! those slops match my costume from last year!!

so, i was asked for my bodice on, so here goes. I have added paned skirt tabs and epaulets. I will hand- sew on a navy border down the front, and have a black-worked stomacher under the lacing. it will also have elbow-length sleeves....

HUZZAH!!  I *finally* have something to post in this thread!

I have made the bodice portion of my Italian overgown:

(Please excuse the mannequin, which is way too small for the gowns--I don't have a dress form in my current size, and this was handy for pix!)

Next I have to do the skirts, which will be heavily pleated in back, and nearly flat in front.  Once I have that done, I can get started on the reversible brown linen/yellow damask sleeves!

I'm *so* excited.  This is a project I've been planning since 2006 (when I bought the yellow damask), and it feels great to *finally* have real progress made on it!

It looks great Gem!
That yellow damask is making me itch for my beading needle.  ;)

Oh DonaCatalina, we think SOO much alike!!  That yellow fabric screams bead me!  I also like the black edging on the underdress, nice touch.

You haven't had enough coffee unless you can thread a sewing machine while it's running.

LadyShadow

It is looking beautiful.  Cnat wait to see a finished project.

Thanks, everybody!  Last night I enlarged a skirt pattern from PFTC (the closest thing I have to the Alcega pattern), and today I hope to get that cut out of the mockup fabric so I can test pleats and things.  I *really* want to get to work on those sleeves, but I can't do that until I see how much fabric I'm going to need for the skirts.  Talk about motivation to get the gown done! LOL  ;D
