I didn't figure it would help. Sorry. I'm not sure who makes it. It was on a huge roll instead of the normal rectangle cardboard...it's like a thick rougher cotton. It doesn't feel like upholstery, but that's where it was in the store. I can go back and see if the roll gives clues. I'll try to do that this coming week.
It's ok, Tammy, I was just curious. I thought it was a wonderful print.  ;D

Coo!  She might have nearly as much stash as me...  Need to shop more!  She who dies with the most wins...   ;D

Syrilla

I think I am slowly creeping up there.  Tho I still have stashes in three different states.  I really need to get it all together!

I have fallen off the no fabric unless needed or a job comes along, bandwagon.  On my way back south I stopped at my favorite fabric store that sell last years, over runs, and what ever else, and has two stores across the street from each other.   And lo and behold, in a pile, there was a large amount of "sunrise" colored dupioni silk all folded up.  If I had not already purchased $50 of fabric from the upholstery side of the street, then I think I would have bought all of it.  It was only $2.99 a yard!!!!!!  Okay, it is Very stiff, has lots of slubs, but it bright! Hot pink crossed with orange.  I think.  It is now washed, still stiff, and folded up under my bed.  Waiting.... taunting!
Help!

Lady L

*sigh* 'Tis soooo easy to fall off of that wagon.

You could but I think they would throw it off.  Tho FAA mentors are mean...

I love that! What are you going to make with it?

I only bought a yard of it. It was on sale, and it still cost $9.00. I'm thinking a purse, then I'll just have to see how much is left.
My friend that was with me didn't understand the GREATNESS of this fabric...I knew y'all would, though!!

Tammy .. I think the fabric is amazing. I just love it. My first thought was a bodice but for day to day wear a purse or a small backpacks will be great.

That was my first thought too!! A bodice in that would be ADORABLE!! But, I've never attempted a bodice, and I really don't think my sewing skills are that good yet.
I'm gonna make a purse, maybe a little pouch for faire, and maybe a favor sash too. Just depends on how far I can stretch the yard I bought.

Go for the purse and the favor sash. Not only it will look great but also it will be a great conversation starter.

Thanks to your ideas I'm finally cataloging my fabric. I'm opening up and numbering every bin, cutting out a sample piece and measuring the amount of fabric. I then fold the fabric in half and roll it up. On an index card I staple the sample, write down the type of fabric, how much yardage and the bin number. The fabric is sorted by type of fabric in the bins, the samples are sorted in a 4x6 photo album by color. I only have five large bins of fabric yet this seems to be taking forever!

You haven't had enough coffee unless you can thread a sewing machine while it's running.

You guys organize your fabric! :o

;)

LadyElizabeth

Haha, I thought I was organized, but ya'll put me to shame!  I definitely do not organize my fabric, though now ya'll are making me feel guilty I don't and making me think maybe I ought to!  Though honestly I seriously doubt I have the room or ability to do so with my current organization area.

Never thought about organizing my fabric.  It is just folded and all crammed together.  I think this weekend I am going to spend some time rearranging things :)

I hope if I organize it I'll stop making duplicate purchases (what did she say?). I won't have to lift and sort through heavy bins that aggravate my sciatica (yes, my growing fabricholism is literally a pain in my butt).  I have two 5 yard lengths of dark blue linen when I only needed one. I've also organized my books and realized I have two copies of the same book. I'm trying to beat my scatterbrain to the pass. ;D

I guess I'm not a true fabricaholic yet since I only have two tubs of folded fabric and five bolts!  :D
