Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. I shall be at Scarby every weekend. This year I shall be stationed at the drink booth by joust. So I won't be able to make the schedule meetups. But, please stop by and say good morrow if you are in the area.

The NWS long range simply says "Friday thru Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72." Way far out but at least there doesn't seem to be any big change coming (it snowed here in Bowie last night!). We will be driving down Friday and staying at America's Best Value (hey it's just a place to sleep and garb up). Anyone else staying there. WE are bringing my daughter, son in law and their 6 kids (yes its like the Brady bunch sort of), her 2 and his 4. Give a shout out to them if you see them. They went last year for the first time ever and this time, they all have put together garb and are so excited. They had a blast last year (daughter was beckoned to the stage by Don Juan), kids loved Twig and the Duchess, Noobler and others, SOL and I did archery and his youngest son (he's 8 this year) asked me at the end of the Final Joust "papa Rick, what do they do with that dead guy?" I told him that oh it was just an act and he'd get up and walk off. He said "I saw the blood!" So, I took him back to watch and true to form (I had never seen them do this) and maintaining the illusion, they brought out a stretcher and carried him off. So, they just haul off the dead guy and throw him in the woods...

I'm excited, sharing Faire with family and friends, introducing them to all of my Faire friends is why the world of Faire is so great!

Sir Marcus MacLaren and I will be there on opening day, good Lord willing and the creek don't rise.  I just won two new Italian style gowns on Ebay, and I'd be tickled pink if they arrived in time for me to get to wear one of them!  Sir Marcus is taking archery lessons (as a phys ed elective) this semester, and he won a bow on Ebay.  (I know people bring swords to Faire; do people ever bring bows?)  You'll probably find him in the archery area a lot this season when we are there!

I've got drummer duty this Sunday for Belly Dance Treasures on their little stage next to the shop.  We'll have 5-minute demonstrations approx. on the hour after the Gypsy stage show ends at around 11a, 12p, 2p, 4p & 5p.  At 1p we march in the parade, @ 3p we do an 8-10-minute demo, then around 6p we have a 20-30 minute jam.  There's usually dancers  out front playing zills & promoting the "Wings of Isis" show @ the Ivanhoe stage all day, so I hope to see some of you!

As the hubby and I are taking a season off from cast this year, we will be out occasionally but not every day.  As of now, our current schedule is as follows:

This is, of course, subject to change based on weather and whim.

When we are out, we will be working as Auxiliary Cast Members for the most part.  There are plans to come out and play in civvies one day, just to experience it *grin*, but for the most part we'll be doing the part-time cast member thing.

 I had hoped to be at Scarby next weekend.
Alas. My beloved Siamese Tachi is not doing well at all and would not survive another weekend of boarding.His Vet is of the same opinion. I will try to build him up and get his insulin dosage regulated- and perhaps I can make another Scarby weekend.  This is a hard unhappy decision to make. Faire is my life- but I have loved my kitty for 15 years and he deserves a chance to see if I can pull him through this.
Sigh.
I will miss my Fairmily so much.
Glad I was there last weekend!
