Whisk(e)ys , like beers, have almost unlimited varieties, I try a lot, I like a few, but I always seem to come back to a couple favorites that I was raised on.

I tried 2 new to me Irish Whiskeys on St.Pats, One was mid price blended called "Feckin"  ::)  that was pretty good, nice and smooth. It's only downside (to me) was it's from Co. Down which is a Northern county.
I also tried an expensive single malt called Michael Collins, wanted to like anything named after the big man, but I thought it tasted like paint thinner  :P

But Jack, always ready to try new stuff! Are you going to the Vampire party ? I'll bring some along..

Well since I don't drink alcohol and since a long day at the faire can cause a person to sweat a lot and lose electrolytes this year I will bring powdered gatorade mix and put in in water I buy at the faire or dispense from a faucet.

Yeah yeah I know, not drinking alcohol/ale at a renaissance faire is probably like asking for milk at a saloon in the wild west (Back to the Future reference)...but gatorade is a practical secret "potion".

I dunno, yet.  I'd like to come in a 'themed' outfit, suitable for the occasion, but am short of ideas.

Gatorade. That's actually a very good idea. I might have to buy a second flask for that.

What exactly is Liqor 43?

Liquor 43 is nectar of the gods. It's a vanilla liqueur made in Spain that is great as an after dinner drink.

It is very different from vanilla schnapps.
'Cuarenta y Tres' is Spain's leading liqueur and has been made in Cartagena by Diego Zamora since 1924 although it's origins go back many centuries. The name derives from the forty three ingredients that go to make up this fine liqueur. With it's smooth vanilla and citrus flavours it is excellent on the rocks or in cocktails.

For the San aNotnio Highland Games this past weekend, I had Isle of Jura in my flask.  It has a smooth, peaty taste, and goes down good.  In return, I had some Balvenie from a piper buddy.

My new favorite is called American Honey. It's a honey liqueur made by Wild Turkey. Honey & Bourbon, smooth going down, heats you up really well.

As much as I hate to ask..what exactly is Loki? I've never heard of it or had it. Do you make it, buy it? *hides from cabbages that will surely be flung her way*

I'm in search of VanGogh Melon Vodka for mine...I had it in a honeydew martini on my birthday and it was divine!  :)

American Honey (oops perhaps this ought to go in the camping thread) is EXCELLENT as a a steak marinade!  American honey, brown sugar and chipotle - sweet, hot smokey....yum!

Oh, but in my flask, Glenmoragie port wood.

you make it, the only people i've heard having it are renfolk. There are many different reciepes and its kinda something you have to play with and perfect.

Currently don't own a flask  but i'd probably copy a friend and carry around fruity concoctions like a royal f.....
the best taste i had this year was dr. pepper with coconut rum and vanilla vodka.
What does the color blue taste like?
