For my birthday this year I was gifted this lovely bodice. I was planning on sewing my own chemise and skirt for faire...but other things took precedence. I'm still gonna do the skirt, as it won't take long. I've never sewn a chemise, and I'm not good with sleeves. My mom bought me this cute peasant top from Old Navy...and I had the silly idea that it might work...just for this one trip to faire.

So...what do ya think? Does it look stupid? It has cute blue embroidery...and the bodice and dragon are blue...   Of course...this is without the skirt.

The peasant top looks just fine! That's what my daughter usually wears.

Thank you. I know I can't be h/a, but I just didn't want to look stupid for mixing modern with faire stuff.

Thanks!!!!

Very pretty - goes well w/the bodice & most important - you'll be happier knowing your chemise layer is well made.

I agree, it does look good.  Maybe I might be visiting Old Navy as well.

Thank you SO much ladies!! You've given me the confidence to feel good wearing that peasant blouse.
Old Navy has them in several colors...for $25.00.

I actually have the fabric...and I will make my own chemise...but I'm running out of time. I'm going to faire this weekend in Georgia.

I like it! and it is cute short-sleeved, a little cooler! the only thing that would worry me is fabric content. so much modern clothing has unatural fibers, which could make you hotter, even in the short sleeves. But, for a fill-in, I think it is lovely!

It's actually 100% cotton...and it's SO thin, that without anything over it...there's NO way I could wear it bra-less!!
