I was just browsing the TRF site and looked to see what changes may have been made in the campgrounds for this season and it is listed in the rules that NO FIRES are allowed outside of the designated fire pit?  ???  Has the website always stated this or this a change?

As far as I know it stated that last year.  But I'm not 100% sure.

Gosh I sure hope so.  It got me all worried thinking about how to keep our fingers and toesies warm!

That's always been listed on the print outs as I recall.  Though it also stated that you could have the self contained kind.

The little hand out that they give at the gate stated no ground fires and no digging holes for fire pits.

That just means no ground fires.  As long as your camp fires are within a container that is above ground and and the bottom of the pit stays off the ground so as not catch fire.

It just sort of threw me for a loop!  ::)  I don't recall seeing that last season.

It's said that for as long as I can remember.  Ignore it; the police officers on site only care about whether your fire is contained in a fire pit.

There are other rules that should be added, IMO; generator restrictions, for one, and "no glass" for another...

Yup - that's pretty much been my understanding as well.

I can vouch for the no-glass rule being important after having to fish an inebriated teenage girl out of a pile of broken glass...
