Lady Nicholette, that's horrible. I hope the clean-up isn't too difficult. But, as someone said look at the bright side plenty of firewood for many bonfires to come. And Happy Birthday to your son from me. Hope evrythin turns out okay, and it's real good to hear you and yours are all right.

Truly, the more I look at it, the luckier I feel.  The next tree in line would have hit my garage and possibly my bedroom.  The final tree's crown rests at the foot of that tree, which is at least 50 or more feet high and about 8 feet in diameter (no exaggeration, those of you who have stayed at the wRenHouse know how big my trees are).

And TN didn't have a single babpiper yesterday, DB!  Now I know where they all were!

Hey Nickie -

It looks like you have your work cut out for you, but it could have been so much worse. I am grateful that you are all okay, and no one was hurt. It could have been so much worse. So maybe a bonfire in your backyard, sometime soon? We'll bring the marshmallows!

I think that whoever clears the wood will get to keep it...It most likely will be the park service (who owns the property that the trees all came from), who will be charging me nothing to take care of it.  For that, they can take as much wood as they want!  But I'm sure they'd love a M'Crack gathering and marshmallows!

Pirates of Treasure Cove

Our goal: To teach kids to be readers and leaders. We put books out for the kids and parents to look through and hand out scrolls to the kids/parents listing books for age groups to read about pirates and such (if you look to the far left you can see some of the books).

Colleen Gunther, who flies out from Michigan at least 2 or 3 times a year to join us.

sort of Ren related. I play on a Co-ed Adult Kickball team through work. Last night I decided to wear a kilt to it. I even biffed it running the bases and let me just say people at work now know what is under my kilt.

RumbaRue that is an excellent way to get children and adults to read.  There are more facts in a book than what can be fit in a 1/2 hour to hour show on television. I know this for a fact because I only watch T.V. for comedy, but for info. even reference I read books or even read stuff on the internet which is more educational. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for the great words.

When Kent Richards (our Capt.) and I put together this group we wanted to have a true goal.
The response has been great and hopefully we'll be able to start reading some of the books to the little ones soon - another goal. :)

That'd be exciting for the kids, I know our faire has story telling, and all are welcome and sometimes I've sat and listened and the stories were just as entertaining for us adults, or I guess I'm just a big kid at heart. Good work, and I hope you've met your goal and will be able to expand on it.

Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.
