I'm going to hell for all the off color things I am now thinking.

Still, an artist is gone, one more light dimmed.

Brillant artist who's music marked the world in so many good ways. It is sad as a person he wasn't liked in his last few years.

What a sad, freakish day... RIP Michael Jackson.  May you find peace.

The power went out here today, so we got out our crank radio to check the news and as soon as we turned it on we heard "The passing of Michael Jackson".  Really sad.  He was a really great artist, no matter what's happened recently.

I may not have liked him as a person but his music was incredible.  His passing is a loss to the music industry.  The passings of Farrah Faccet Fawcett and Ed McMahon are also a great loss to the entertainment community.

I'll keep my thoughts to myself for once.

But you can't argue that if this wasn't the best video, it was in the top two.

I'm glad you posted that. I'd like to just remember the good things about Michael. He had a hard , hard life, and made some bad choices, but damn he made good music.

Here's Billy Jean. I remember when this came out. It blew me away.

An unbelievably, incredible entertainer who music has been a part of so many peoples lives. Would of loved to see him pull off those 50 shows in London.

Michael Jackson will be missed. He was more influential in my kids lives, especially my daughter's.

I believe the original "THRILLER" music video was closer to 20 minutes long. I remember the MTV World Premiere at Halloween time. A breakthrough music video that played like a movie short.

Man it's such a shock.  He was in his prime a few years before me really, but I still grew up knowing and loving his music, my mom was a big fan.  What a dancer too!  Farewell to the King.

A complex and controversial individual for sure, but the guy could sing and dance.  I remember hearing interviews with some of the professional dancers who worked with Michael Jackson.  They were in awe that he could pick up the challenging choreographed moves so quickly and execute them with such presicion.  He worked with multitudes of dancers with a great many more formal classes than himself, but his raw talent made it look like he had as many years of training as the troupes he worked with.

Who knows what percentage of accuracy the rumor mills can claim as to Michael Jackson's personable foibles?  It doesn't really matter ... at this time, I wish his family, friends and fans peace and healing from the grief they must be enduring.

Same for Farah Fawcett's and Ed McMahon's family and friends.  Godspeed all.

So many already have captured the sentiment so well already. May he now find peace. He left quite a legacy in song and dance.

My sister & I have had a trip to London in the planning stages for several months.  One of the things she wanted to was see him again in concert, but the tickets sold out before we could get to them.   We saw him twice in concert in the '80's & I took my son to see him.

One of my favorite stories is going to the flea market in Denver w/my son who was about 5 at the time.  He fell in love w/a poster of the Thriller zombie dance and, being a good mother, I bought it & tacked it up on his wall.  He woke me up later that night to have me take it down as it scared him.

Rest well.
