Just finished the Chemise for Kathryn Fae Weldon. The Corset is half way done. I ran out of thread.

With having Knee Surgery on Thursday, I strive to get the Corset finished so that I have a few days to recover.

here is my bodice that i have been working on for my gown.  it is still not complete, and frankly it is taking me too long to complete because i have been so distracted. i mean, i dont' even have to put boning in it-boning hurts me since i have fibromyalgia and makes it very uncomfortable. so it definitely should not take me this long to complete!

The fibro can be a bugger at times.  Mine has interrupted sewing quite a lot this week.  The old 'fog in head - universe isolated' thing...  It's funny how different people are affected, too.  With me bones in bodices or corsets are no problem, but seams in gloves are a killer!  And socks.  Seam-free socks, always!

I like you colour combination.  It'll be very smart when complete.

LadySeasan

thanks kate,

yeah fibro affects everyone differently.  last year when we went to the fair i wore a boned corset under my gown, and boy that did not make me happy. i had to go back to the car and take it off

but gloves annoy me also! and i barely wear socks anymore because they start agitating me

but um, back to the bodice.  the color combination is that of a light weight hunter green corduroy that i had in my stash, and the middle panel is this home decor fabric from JoAnns-more of an olive green with swirly vines on it.  :) yay

Lady S and Kate:  I don't suffer from that disease, but by accident I found the most wonderful socks while we were in St. Louis.  I had brought a thick pair of socks to wear under my pirate boots and after the first day got blisters on several toes.  So the next morning, we went to Walmart so I could look for a thinner pair of socks.  I purchased a two pack of socks in the ladies dept. called Diabetic Socks.  They are the softest, best socks I ever bought.  I don't have diabetes, but I know diabetics tend to have foot problems, so when I saw them, I took them off the display hook, and they were so soft.  I bought the black color, but they also come in white.  I wear them all the time at home, and your feet feel like they're wrapped in clouds.

Warning:  Not every Walmart carries them.  The Walmart in Galena, where I live, doesn't, but across the Mississippi in Dubuque, IA, they do.  Kate, I know you're in the UK, but isn't Asda or Tesco (one of them) part of the Walmart family?  Maybe you could find them there.

I think it's Asda.  They don't carry many lines that apppear in the USA, but the clothing is always good value for money.  I usually wear popsox with a flat seam round the toes, and it's usually only my walking boot socks I need to fuss about.  For those, as I'm allergic to wool, I have Thorlos.   ;D

I have several projects on the schedule at thr moment.

The fruatrating part is now that I am recovering from knee surgery I had on the 16th. I am unable to get to the sewing machine because of the pain medication. Hopefully within the next several days I can get things set up upstairs. I had surgery to repair torn Mensicus tissue amd Cartilidge in the right knee. Very painful otherwise. I am doing ok nd now keeping food down.

Thank you, Lady Shadow.

Here is the chemise I originaly had Elizabeth, my Apprentice,  make for me. But I came to the conclusion that r Kathryn Fae Weldon would like it istead. We are abut the same size. A sheer Cotton Foile with trim, 4mm pearls. gold buttons with maroon center. ruffs at the neck and wrist with needlelace.

I will post photos of the projects I am working on as they progress.
