LadyK... as always.... such lovely work, and I can't wait to see the rest.  Tho take care of yourself first.

What great accessories..... The good thing about the plain ones, you can do what ever you want to fancy them up.  :D

A lovely girl in a very lovely gown.  I agree with the others on the beading of the forpart is a must.  I wouldn't suggest a band of red on the white, unless you are going to go up the front sides also.  Leaving a few inches of the white showing.  Then I would bead that also.  Instead of beading the whole forpart, you could pearl/bead two lines, 4" apart, paralel down the center and then split them at 90 degrees a 8ish" inches from the hem.  Adding a extra line 4" below them all the way across.  Creating an upside down T.  Then fill that in with the same beading as on the bodice.  Does that make sence?

The Overskirt is finsihed. Huzzah!!!!

I decided to put a double row of trim dpwn the front of the Overskirt. The deep Maroon against the Gold of the forepart looks rich!!

Miss Amy, your daughter's dress it beautiful, well done!  I'm not normally a big fan of the attifet but it's wonderfully flattering on her...just perfect. And her hair is perfect too!  Striking color combo.  LOVE!  I lean into the clean line design thing too so I know it's hard to get into that super ornamental Elizabethan frame of mind.  I think you're on the right track though...pearling the forepart and adding a hemline trim would be a great start.  And you can build on the costume from year to year too.  Great job, she looks beautiful!

WOW!!  :o  Lady K that gown is absolutely stunning. Your work is amazing.

Yes!  That makes perfect sense!  I am tickled that you are commenting on her outfit! I have pictures with you next to it I believe!  I want to try something that I can truly accomplish in my limited sewing time. The red does not have a geometric pattern woven in so that could add a structured guideline for me.  This could be just the ticket.  I will see how much red I have left to make additional trim for up the front as well.

Thank you again for everyones kind comments and suggestions!

Yea, brain and typing worked!  Yes, I do remember hers and your outfits, most of the years.  I know that a few of that cast members and myself admired that one greatly, and how brave she was to wear it on the faire site, esp. this year with all of the rain.  Tho I do have to say, that the Queen was a bit jealous, as she was contemplating red as an accent next year...  :D

This is why I always say that when I grow up I will be able to sew like Lady K! There was not a time that Lady Delaney walked by my shop that I did not drool!
