I am so inordinantly pleased with this photo of HRH at MDRF, you have no idea.

Tipsy Gypsy

I would be too, Analise, it's a great shot :) .

You should be. It's a great shot.

Jon.

Poldugarian Warrior

That pic with the girls sword fighting, reminds me of the scene in the Led Zeppelin Movie The Song Remains the Same, when Jimmy Page climbs the cliff and at the top the wizard is waving the sword back and forth and it's changing all sorts of colors. The costumes and dresses were great looking too, looks like it was a fun and tasty time.

I always love seeing what is newly posted here :)

No stunners from MNRF this past weekend but I have a couple from Tanglewood Garden Store in Minneapolis, that place is a photographers dream!

I just watched that tonight on Blue Ray, it was the best ever!  Great pic's too everyone!
VENI, VIDI, VELCRO! Spelling and grammatical errors are beyond my control, it's the way I'm wired.

Poldugarian Warrior

Oh that has to be amazing on blue/ray I have my old VHS copy and when I view it it looks like dingy archival footage, but hey it still works and the sound is still good. So I can't complain too much.

Terrific shot!  Really like the processing.  Hell, I *hope* there was a little processing.  I'd hate to think you got that shot to jump straight out the camera like that.   :)

Actually, that's why I'm so pleased with this one. I didn't do anything to it. I was kinda shocked when I was flipping through the pictures I took and that one popped up. :)

No processing?  Bravo!  You managed a really nice exposure and skin tone on his face without completely blowing out the feathers on his hat, which is always a tricky little balancing act.  Did you use any fill flash or is it all available light?  And out of curiosity, what did you shoot that with?

I think I must've had lucky timing on this considering the mix of light and shadow at that particular stage.

It's all available light though, I typically never use my flash when I'm shooting outside (just don't. *shrug*). And the camera is a Sony Cybershot H2 I bought a few years ago. I <3 it. I figure whenever I get ready to replace it, it will be with another from the same line. But so far it's still going strong.

And just because, another picture I shot at the same time at that stage:

Love that shot.  It's dripping color all over my laptop.

Side question:  How do you like Smugmug's hosting?  Been thinking of moving over there.
