Does anyone have any ideas on where to find some hat boxes to store my nifty new hats? I was thinking maybe Garden Ridge, but gah I hate going in that store, it's huge and I can never find what I want where I think it ought to be.

Would prefer a brick-and-mortar store than ordering online but online is definitely an option.

Thanks!

I don't see these everywhere, like I used to (just a handful of years ago, you could get decorative hat boxes *everywhere,* from craft stores to Hallmark to Burlington Coat Factory.  I have a nice small one that fits my pillbox hats and a couple of my floral garlands.), but I still do see a lot of decorative boxes at JoAnn and Hobby Lobby.  I think Michael's also carries unfinished boxes.

Try Tuesday Morning, too.

I bought a couple of Hat Boxes at Tuesday Morning, back in the late 90's.

You also might try TJ Maxx.  I think they've got a "Decorative" products area.

You might to want to check eBay also, they have a lot of sizes and prices, both new and old... ;D
So what are you doing this weekend?

I've seen them at so many of the garage sales I've been to this summer, mostly for no more than $1-2 each...

I've got 3 hats in one box.  It's a file box from Staples.  Each one is separated or wrapped in a cotton sash.  So, my hats get stored and are wrapped so there is no misshaping and my sashes/snoods are in one place (most of the time).  I toss in a few dryer sheets for that 'fresh' scent.  I've noticed a moth issue cropping up in my closet, so the cedar chips are about to get added to the mix.

Good luck!
I don't know what you've heard, none of it is factual, but it's all true.

I looked for several years for something in which I could store my Victorian top hat (it's fairly tall).  I finally ended up getting a plastic case normally used for a drum at a local music store.  I suspect yours isn't the same problem, though.   :)

M'Lady and I simply get a small clear storage tote box with lid from Walmart and put our hats in there.  Since we do nobility the hats are somewhat tall (tall hats and such) and as a result don't fit in a traditional hat box.  These clear totes however are VERY nice and keep the hats clean and its also easy to know what hats are in what boxes.  Hope this helps.

I picked up several 'hat' boxes for my wife and I at the Container Store.
They weren't labeled as such, I just bought double walled boxes that fit the dimensions.

I can vouch for Tuesday Morning and Ross if you have them in your area.
All of mine come from Ross.

A friend of mine uses plastic Christmas wreath boxes to store some of her hats in. For her, they're the perfect size and shape, and pretty inexpensive too.

I "requisition" empty paper boxes from work for my hats.  I then put the hats in dry cleaning bags.  To make it easy to know which hat is in which box I tape a picture of the hat on the front of the box.

Thanks for all the great suggestions on stores and alternatives. If I can get away from work this weekend, I see a shopping trip in order.
