Actually that does sound best.  Combine the greetings so we can show off for the rest of the RFers who haven't even seen this thread yet.  Best chance to recruit more that way too.

Not to mention it's just one appointment to remember.

What is the PoW? I've been to TRF before, but it's been a while since I've been there. Where is it at on the faire grounds?

Prince of Wales pub, I do believe, though I've never been there either.  On the TRF website there's a printable map that will show where everything is, and I plan to download it to my computer tonight and study it every chance I get in the next 3 weeks (which, I admit, won't be often...)

That does sound like the best plan, particularly since we'll want to show off all of our hard work to everyone!!!  Besides, I'm not sure about all of you, but I plan to have a bit of fun in the campground Friday night, so I might just sleep a few minutes late on Sat. morning!  :o  LOL  I understand there's gonna be quite the party there, both nights...  :D

Yea, about that printed map...  Walking it is way different in perspective and scale than looking down on paper at it.  Wish they would get a good aerial photo to mark up as the map instead.  My stumbling description of finding the PoW is to orient from the front gate, hang a left and walk til you see it on your right.  It's at the pinnacle of a row of shops.  If you can see a huge driftwood bed across the way, stop and turn to your right 90 degrees and you should be in front of the PoW.
Orienting from the other side (Pirate Area), go towards the shop with the awesome pot roast sandwiches with that sweet relish that is making the corner with the Ded Bob stage and turn left, wander passed a bookstore and a few other shops while looking to the left for the front of PoW.

I wish I could meet all of you at TRF.  :(
As I understand it some Detroit area steampunks are planning to invade MIRF this weekend (if the rain doesn't keep them away) so I am planning to wear steampunk garb today. I spent yesterday afternoon sewing up a bustled train from the Truly Victorian butterfly train pattern. It killed me to pay $20 ($15+ 5 s&h) for the pattern but I couldn't figure out the pleating without it. I made this practice version from black broadcloth lined in brown and plan to wear it with back and brown striped pants. I want to make the "real" one of striped taffeta with a matching skirt.

Sealion, I've been wondering about the butterfly train & finally decided against it as too formal for my walking suit.  But I love the idea of it w/trousers - so delicious.

We'll all plan on noonish at the PoW - it's not hard to find.  Grov, what's the name of the roast beef sammich place?

I don't know about all y'all, but I am so ready for faire.

Sealion, that's gorgeous!!!  Now I want one...  I'd probably be more apt to go Lolita than Lady, though, but that's just luscious!!!

Less than a month now!!!  I'm getting so excited I can hardly stand it...  :D

Mmmmm... roast beef sammich...

Doesn't Sealion do gorgeous work?  There'll be no shabbiness at WindyCon, I can tell!

That capelet that's been dealing me fits?  I cut off a good two inches of drooping lining on Tuesday & it's continuing to droop.  What I will probably do is let it hang on Dolly & then sew it a few days before WindyCon, then pack it flat & not wear it before WC.  Dang bias! PoS!

I hope we can get some group shots.  Cameras!

I stand corrected about the quality of the online map.  Been years since I looked at it but it's obviously been redone quite nicely.  Even added roll-over name popups for the shops.  The name of the sammich place is "Sour Old Skull Pub" right beside the Odeon stage.  Bottom right corner of the map.  The PoW is the bottom part of the big green section on the east end of the 300 block of buildings.  There are even some picnic tables outside between the Ananda Trader and the PoW.

Not roast beef, mind you. Pot roast. Potatoes, onions, and veggies in there too.  Definitely forkable but I just get a few extra napkins and stick it in me mouf.

Okay, Grov, you've upped the ante from rb sammich to pot roast & veg - next weekend can't come fast enough!

Taffy the name of the young couple coming down for the Steampunk invasion are Brianne and Jonathan.  I told them about the meet up and they are real excited about coming TRF for the first time and being part of a steampunk invasion too.

My dear BIL brought me some green chile from Chuy's for dinner, which to this Nueva Mejicana beats the heck out of just about anything.

Thanks so much, SirRichardBear.  This is the steam punk badge/favor list to date.  If you are coming on AHE in SP & would like to be added, or I've left your name off or if you're on the list, but won't be attending, please let me know.  I'll be making another small batch next week, but the fumes from the paint & glue are migraine engines & I won't be doing anymore after that.  So please let me know, k?

You know a train like that can be a great look with nothing under but shortie bloomers, fancy stockings, and garters. ;)

Sorry the lining is being such a pain! One of the things on my to-do list is putting a new lining in my little capelet. I bought the thing for four bucks at an antiques shop and it looks great but I ruined the delicate silk lining when I wore it on Labor Day. :(
