I might not make it to opening weekend.  Got hit by a drunk driver last night.  Me and my daughter are ok, but my van's going to be in the shop for a while.  Please send good thoughts my way that all goes well and I get a rental car big enough to carry all my camping equipment!!!!

I am very sorry to hear that Laura, was hoping to see ya again!
I have very angry streak when it comes to drunk drivers...
Have you asked the nearby rennies if any would be willing to help tote a few items for you?
If you were close enough I would certainly volunteer to carry whatever we could.

I would like to open a discussion about our friend the cuttlefish... ;)

Laura: glad you and your daughter are alright, and I echo the desire for the raging asshat to be chucked into the pokey with Bubba the Horse Molester, where he will learn A) that it is stupid and the height of arrogance to put other people's lives at risk because he/she was too damned idiotic to call a cab or bring a designated driver, and B) why it is called the pokey .

Likewise, while I only live thirty minutes from faire, if you need anything hauled and are anywhere near us, most of our stuff's going up this afternoon, so we'll have room :)

Sorry about the hijacking, Fraser.

Going to buy a groundtarp for my tent of pure awesomeness today!! :D Along with some more stakes, that is after I finish my commission and get paid for it THIS WEEKEND, I hope. I really really hope.

I can't believe it'll be a week from today....

Lady Laura, I am so very glad that you and your daughter are unhurt!  I've had my own experiences with drunk drivers, and it seldom turns out well for anyone.  Tell the insurance company that you require at least a mini-van as replacement because you drive the school car-pool or something similar.  It's worth a try, anyway...

Good wishes your way Lady Laura.  Alas, I won't be there for Opening Weekend (boohoo sigh whimper)  I'll be moving to a new apartment-why they're "APARTments when they're heaped ogether I'll never know.  I'll be thinking of all of you enviously

Second try at the tent worked- lol we had to set it up inside because of the rain- lol kitties loved it! what's important is that the model we got before mustve been 1.0, and we just got model 1.2... they reinforced the plastic bits which broke, and clarified the setup instructions. it's HUGE, a 13x9 ROOM!

we'll have a small brisket Saturday night, with some to hare, w/ tater salad and monkeybread- the nutela loki is nearly ready, as is the apple pie loki... Come Visit!
