So I've been (im)patiently waiting for a fabric order for which I spent 2 weeks pricing fabric.  Faire is next weekend.  I know that if I work efficiently I *might* be able to finish everything. I'm very excited to see my fabric order (!!!) in the mailbox today. I open it and.....
This is not what I expected.
This is the wrong weight wool.
This is not usable.
*explodes*

....I have planned for an emergency Joann's run tomorrow. Sigh, the hazards of ordering online from a new source. At least my linen is good. And the wool is returnable.  I just wanted to share.  :-\

Any good last-minute fabric disaster stories to share?

Aw! Last-minute problems like that are certainly not fun (and even if they're not last-minute).

Oh yes.  A couple of years ago we were planning on going to Faire.  Hubby and I had garb, but none of the kids did.  Well 2 days before faire, Hubby decides I need to make the kids some garb to go.  I altered a dress for my oldest girl, my youngest girl was staying with a babysitter so there was no problem there.  For the 4 boys I stared at my very small fabric stash and started figuring.  I sent Hubby, with list, to the store to get some more fabric while I started.  He gets home and I start washing the fabric and then sewing.  I get 4 pants made and 2 vests made.  When I realize he didnt get me enough fabric to make any shirts, only enough for 2 more vests.  By this time it was too late to go and get more fabric from anywhere.  And we ended up having to use what shirts we could find in their dressers to work the next day.

Thankfully I have better planned and started earlier in the year now for making them garb.
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.
