Well, I discovered I am DEFINITELY going to need to wear my leg braces while smithing. Spent most of today laid up in my bed upstairs in pain after being on my feet all day yesterday. Currently, 3 for 4- finished out a hand-axe, and helped hammer out two railroad spike knives, but I had a wizard-handled dagger I was working on develop a shear line in the handle, so that crapped out. Should be able to salvage the blade and draw it into a spike-tang to set into an antler handle, but I was really liking the way that thing was turning out.

Met Zubaun, Blue, and a few other folks who dropped by, apologies to anyone who couldn't find me today. Tiff had a good time, and got lots of exercise walking, which she needed. It rained and mudded both days intermittently, and I swear it felt like early-to-mid November out there

First piece of wrecked steel of the season... check (was trying to learn why Breandan's attempts at making spoons always resulted in the loud clang of steel hitting the wall followed by gaelic curse words.  I understand now...)

I was busy "rennifying" my lady so I could only stop by and say "Hi" to Ms. Blue. Also stopped by the forge but it was close to closing and Sir Breandan & wife were busy.

Tried out the Prince of Wales, chocolatier (Truffles!!!), baked potato, fish and chips, chocolate dipped cheescake on a stick and a assortment of other goodies.  Saw Ded Bob, Irish and Rose and the "joust" which got a "they really do that?!" from ma lady. Stopped in and was glad to see Ms. Dra back to work as she missed Scarborough due to some injuries. Surprised the German Brothers weren't performing on Octoberfest w/e (or maybe I just missed them). But did see them in the parade along with Cassidy (hard to miss her).

Hercules- The German brothers were there... they were performing at the noon and evening gathering at the front, right after the parade and right before the fireworks and they were running all over the rest of the weekend. They didn't have a set time and place to perform though.

Glad to hear people had fun!
I met Blue before the parade on Saturday.... I was a little HIGH on medication and out of it then.

Sorry if I was a little out of it... I found only nyquil was keeping the cough at bay and keeping me warm and cozy.... at the expense of me being a walking German zombie!

This was definitely a wet but fun weekend.  My weekend started at midnight thursday night / friday morning.  Kyle and I set up 2 arbors, 3 tents and 1 thirty-five foot boat deck before 4am.  The rain and wind only caused minimal damage to camp.  A little of a damper since no one could remember an opening weekend with similar weather.

On Saturday we met Bellevivre and Mitch as they rolled in and started setting up their camping gear.  I sure hope you two had a great time and I look forward to camping out with y'all again. Inside we met Breandan at the forge and I was able to practice a bit of my gaelic. We missed most of you at the POW as we were late getting over there.  But theres always AHE.  Our daughter had a great time even though she went into shy mode everytime the faeries came around.  Yet she bugged us all morning about getting in and seeing the faeries.  Ah the joys of a three year old.

Sunday we never made it in as we used every break in the rain to pack up our gear.  That was a bit of a bummer - Just another reason to look forward to AHE.

ALSO, meant to say that I got to meet (too briefly!) Elo and Blue, and that scrumptious barbarian...lol
