Here are a few of my photos from the weekend!

Nice work Meg. I see that you were shooting with a big gun this time. How did you like it?

Very fast but very different than mine. It was a ton of fun, though the weather made it kind of difficult because I had to keep on making sure it stayed dry.

Meg: You probably would not have needed to take so much care in making sure it stayed dry if you saw how wet I was letting my other lens get.  But I do appreciate you having done so.  Hopefully the weather is great on AHE, you can borrow it again and not have to worry about such precautions.

Clarendon: Thanks. It was rainy and drizzly most of the time and overcast the rest, so to some ends it was good and others bad.  This weekend looks to be sunny so will offer a nice different shooting environment.

What amuses me about this picture is I dress as Gene Simmons when ever I get the chance and I had tossed around ideas for a Halloween Gene Renn Costume. I also think I know that guy but can't remember his name he's in a KISS tribute band out of Houston.

Shandi - you look great in your Gene Simmons garb!  It would be awesome if you went to All Hallows in it.  I didn't know the fellow I saw was in a KISS tribute band, but he's pretty convincing.  I believe he was doing a promo for a Houston radio station because he mentioned something about signing people up for a contest to win a weekend in New Orleans.

Var - thanks for helping with my faulty memory.  Cassandra was a complete delight and I have updated the pic with her forum name.

Meg - you must be pretty tough if you toted an "L" lens around all day.  That's got to be a workout but certainly worth it.   :)

Great photos everyone!

Awww.. c'mon now!  It had weather seals!  That little bit of wet it would just laugh at  ;)  Must have been a lot better than Saturday when all of us were pointing at your smaller (but adequate when in the right hands) lens ;D

When the lens isn't yours, you protect it with your life! And hey now, hey now, none of that! :P
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

I know one picture was taken of me, what I dread are the ones I DON'T know about, probably of my butt as I bent over to pick something up ;D

Yes indeed ... it was nice to meet you and visit for a while, Breandan.  For those of you who have not yet met this fine gent, stop by the Royal Blacksmith shoppe and take a look at the excellent work they do there.  Breandan was showing me this fine axe that he had recently completed.

Valt, thanks for the great pic!  Although it just confirmed my suspicions that I looked like a drowned faerie... ;D ::)
Got faerie dust?

(Yep, gotta figure out simpler link system.)

It was rainy, drizzly, muddy, but great weather to be with friends! ;D

And even though I own my 'L' glass, I still protect it as much as I can from the rain/drizzle.  Also 2 of the lenses with me weren't 'L'.  I used the uber-expensize Zip-Loc bags with holes cut in them and rubber bands.   :D  The Stalkwells' had some pretty fancy camera condoms.  Could protect a 70-200 f/2.8 with a shoe-mount flash attached.  Safe shooting is happy shooting.  ::)  Except for the bit that you can't see what the heck your camera is focusing on in the viewfinder with either of our solutions.

And me with my Target bag  ::)

I did just order some of these:

Similar to what the Stalkwells were using I believe.  I measured to make sure it would work with my 100-400 lens.  Not sure how to get it to work with the shoe-mounted flash though... may need a little pocket knife work.

I could listen to Jenny O'Conner play all day!
Agreed, so glad she is back.

Valt, you were there on Sunday?  Pooh.  I missed you since I was only there on Saturday.

But you were flitting around so much Saturday he would never have caught you!   :-*

She is so serene while she plays.
