Sealion:  Snow/bear:  http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/stories/dovrefjell/dovrefjell_01.php

On the other hand, I live in Houston where it snows very infrequently & rarely in measureable amounts and wouldn't mind a little of the white stuff in Chicago as long as it doesn't mess w/traveling.  The cold weather will, however, really mess w/my system.

My body doesn't tolerate cold well, either. So we'll be the two old ladies limping around the place amongst the youngsters. LOL

Quote from: Taffy Saltwater on October 23, 2009, 08:40:05 AMIt appears that the hotel is part of a mall complex & will be going there for lunch & dinner - please feel free to holler at me if you care to freak the danes at the food court.
Hell yeah! I plan to be "dressed" all weekend.

This weekend is SteamCon, which obviously I won't be attending, but I'm hoping for lots of pics online.

I've been trying to figure out how to come up w/the fundage for a video cam to film the Weasel Queen.  Alas, it's not going to happen so I'll hope someone will be there to post it on Youtube.  The official schedule is finally up and not only are they doing the Weasel Queen, they'll also be doing some of the forums.  So hyu just know Hy'm goink to be followink dem around like some crazed fan gorl.

As God as my witness, there will be pictures.

Does your still camera take video? Mine does (though I forget and rarely use it!) and the quality should be good enough for youtube.

It was a grand day at TRF, what w/it being pirate day & all.  The exciting news - there were some steam punkers out.  No, I have no pictures - it was jam packed & I didn't wander.  There's even a guy in sp at one of the leather shops.

Rani - next weekend, baby!

Sealion, let's go freak some danes outtatown!  I'm looking forward to mall food.

WewT!!!  Full Steam ahead!!!  I am so completely jazzed, and I'm pretty much flat out right now... only have a few small things left to finish, then it's nothing but packing up!!!  I've already got my regular garb packed, so the rest is mostly organizing and such...

Gawd, I wish I could have seen the S/Per's out there today... I'm soooo excited that it's making it's way into the lanes, and I'm sorely tempted to suggest that we have a Steam day for RENdezvous...  Wonder if I'd get flogged for pushing it?  LOL

Can't wait to see the leather guy...  :o  :D

The Time Machine is on Cinemax - a new production, not the nifty one from the '60's.  This is a good production, w/a wonderful brass & glass machine.

Wonder if its the version with Guy Pierce and Jeremy Irons, I did love the machine design in that version.
The mind is like a parachute, its best when open.

This was it - you'd never know that was Jeremy Irons.  The machine design was exquisite.  I also really liked the holographic librarian and that the Eloi were much more animated than the blond zombie Eloi in the first picture.  The Morlocks continue to disappoint.  I'm pretty sure I saw this at the movies when it was first released.

I found a gorgeous gold Lauren vest to wear w/my lavendar walking skirt during the daytime programs at WC.  Just for fun I'll wear my little teacup hat w/it.

I'm behind schedule on getting my outfit done but it's possible to complete it in time. My french batiste ruffled blouse is more than half done--still needs sleeves and a collar closure. My goggles with pearl accents are pretty much done--they just need leather straps sewn on.

I still need to make the plain skirt, vest, long velveteen coat, bustled and draped overskirt and to hand hem the white chiffon scarf for the hat.

I'll take pics once I get my digital camera back from my son.

Don't know about you, Margrett, but I am SUPER excited about this event!  I can hardly wait to see you all punked out - it all sounds gorgeous, especially the blouse.
