Steampunk and its growing following

Still behind "schedule" in getting my costume ready.  Once again, life, the universe, and everything conspired agaisnt me to keep me from getting much of anything done on Saturday.  All I was able to do was the top of the skirt.

BUT!  I had more time to sew on Sunday than anticipated, so I was able to finish the skirt and get the first step in making the corset done (i.e. crappy single-layer, unboned mockup to make sure I had the right size). 

Here are the pictures of my progress.  They're crappy cell-phone pics, but when it's done I will have much better quality pics of me actually wearing the whole outfit.

I don't see why we couldn't have a minor steam invasion at Rendezvous, there is a huge active squadron of steampunkers in the Dallas Fort Worth area. *shrug* I don't see why we couldn't.

Last minute mods and rushing to get everything ready for Saturday on top of school and working and trying to sleep as much as possible.

Elennare, I looooove the skirt. Can't wait to see what the corset looks like finished.

Elennare...so pretty! Very similar but yet very different than what I would like to do if I could sew.

Now if I can actually get my buttons sewn on I'll be more or less set for Halloween...minus a few bits.

Ohhhh speaking of gear I am gonna try to do a photo shoot this weekend...bare minimum location scouting so pictures will be forthcoming.

If there is an invasion at Scarby, it will be completely separate of Rendezvous and RF.com, we will not be associated with the forums.

And if we were to pull it right, I can get some of the area steam punk groups together for it. When it gets closer, we'll talk about it.

oh how I really wish I could be there.. in fact I'm going to do my best to show up Friday night, camp out with my friends and head in Sat... though I would have to leave ASAP after the meet-up since I have gigs as Jack starting at 5pm and it's about a 4 hr drive plus getting dressed as Jack ain't easy  

however I can't speak for David (Lazuli Delacru) or any of the rest of the crew, they are aware of the meet up but, they all have low funds and plans.
I, on the other hand tend to do things that others would describe as... Crazy... like driving for 8 hrs in 2 days just to arrive after the grounds have closed then only stay for a few hours the next day.

As much as we'd love to have you join us, don't harm yourself in the process of over-exerting yourself to join us and do what you have to. If we don't see you this weekend, I know we'd love to see you any other!
