Velika Kladusa Castle is in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Now apparently operating as a hotel, the castle was built about 1280 and known as Cladusa.
The Castle was apparently built by the Croatian princes Blagajski Babonjicima, who owned it until the family divided about 1314.

Happy Friday the 13th!
Ustra is a castle in the eastern Rhodope mountains, southern Bulgaria.

The fortress was built in the 10th century to protect an important trade route. Its was taken by the armies of Simeon the Great (893-927) but after his death it was among the lands given back to Byzantium in return for the recognition of the Imperial title of the Bulgarian rulers.

The Klis Castle is a fortress situated near the city of Split, in central Dalmatia, Croatia which has a thousand year-long history.

The ancient Illyrians tribe Dalmatae held a stronghold on this spot, the first known inhabitants that lived on what is today Klis Fortress. They were defeated in the year 9 A.D., and annexed by Romans.

Castillo de Cortegana is located in the province of Huelva, Spain.

Cortegana castle was constructed in the late thirteenth century (around 1293) by order of King Sancho IV El Bravo. Built as a defense against the Portuguese because of its location close to the border, the castle of today has become a museum.

Morro Castle (Spanish: Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro) is a picturesque fortress guarding the entrance to Havana bay in Havana, Cuba.

When it was built in 1589, Cuba was under the control of Spain. The castle was named after the biblical Magi.

Buffavento Castle is located in northern Cyprus. It means in Italian "Defier of the Winds".

The lowest part of the castle was probably built by the Byzantines in the 11th century. As both of the other castles on Cyprus are visible from Buffavento, it was used to pass signals between them.

Castle Valetta / Fort St. Elmo is a fortification built on Malta by the Knights of St. John.

On the 28th of March, 1566, the foundation stone was laid by Grand Master La Valette. Fort St. Elmo became the tip of the fortified city with four sister fortifications on other adjacent peninsulas.

Kurovice Castle, also called Kurowitz Castle, is located in Kurovice, in the Krom??íž District, Zlín Region, Czech Republic.

The first buildings, in the 13th century, were probably mostly from wood. The oldest surviving walls are from the first half of the 15th century, built by the noble Vrchlabsky family, between 1590 and 1640.

Gavno Castle is located on the island of Gavno near Naestved, Denmark.

Originally built in 1271, the medieval castle is now owned by baron Otto Reedtz-Thott, and has been in the Reedtz-Thott family since 1737. The structure has been heavily modified over the years.

Kimbolton Castle in Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire, is best known as the final home of King Henry VIII's first queen, Catherine of Aragon.

Originally a medieval castle but converted into a stately palace, it was the family seat of the Dukes of Manchester from 1615 until 1950. It now houses Kimbolton School.

Haapsalu Castle is a castle with cathedral in Haapsalu, western Estonia.

Fort St. Agatha north of Mellieha, on the North of the island of Malta is also known as The Red Fort due to its distinctive colouration.

Casbah of Taourirt in Morrocco is our destination today. This castle was once the residence of the Pasha of Marrakesh in the 9th century and is considered one of the most beautiful in Morocco.

The walls and towers inclose a central building as well as an entire living compound. Some towers have fish-tail crenallations that became common on later crusader castles.
