So, I don't want to bring anyone down by saying this, but we have five (5) perfomance days of Faire left. As such , could someone that makes it to morning pre-gate show PLEASE video-tape (or digitally record or whatever your preferred medium is) that segment?I would REALLLLLLLLLY like to be able to see the show from the audience perspective at least once, as I obviously will never be able to in the first person.

I'm also sure there's others who would also like to see their hard work that wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity.

Thanks!!

I'll see if the hubby can get out there tomorrow morning.  I want to see it too!

*Teach*

I will make every attempt to get it closing weekend as well
No promises, for some reason we never make it to opening at TRF

*possibly something to do with the amount of rum consumed in camp...*

At least you didn't blame the cook for serving breakfast late, as usual.  ;D

*Teach*

Will never blame the cook... that might cause me to become the cook

*and the cook helps store my rum... so I am doubly indebted*

*I really need to start leaving the house earlier or leaving my group behind to come up in another vehicle.*

Smart-alecky rodent.

Hmm, I might need a symbol or something that indicates I am being in all seriousness...or this rodent could scale it back a bit on the sarcasm. In all seriousness, Shirley I was serious. I knew there was cannon boom, but before that, I thought it was just, early. What does the pre-gate show entail? Seems, before coming here, I wasn't aware of quite a few gems around my beloved faire. Nice to know that after all these years she still thrills and keeps me surprised.

I won't be out there this weekend (ride issues suck and I'm sad. :( I hate missing a weekend of faire), but I'll catch it next weekend. :D
Oh... Shiny!

If you don't get a good video this weekend, let us know- milord usually brings his every weekend, and you know he'd happily oblige.

My Dear Mouse, ie Smart-alecky rodent, there is an opening show that usually starts about 15 minutes before the gates open.  It intoroduces the family, clan or group that are featured that week.  It is well worth seeing as long as some mundane doesn't stand in from of you (after you have been staking out "the perfect" spot of the last half hour) and spoils your view.  The show generally continues at the Royal Proclamation inside.  Each one this season is similar with our good Captain getting threatened and generally misused.

I do miss the "good old days" when the opening was performed above the gates, but I understand due to safety reasons they had to come down to ground level.  Then people, other than those in the very front or tall like Valt, could see it well.

Good Captain! I enjoy your performance at each show! You do take a lot of abusre- but with humor and charm and good stunt work too!
Huzzah to all! So sad this is the final weekend! It has gone by way too fast!

Okay, it's Thursday night, Turkey Day, and I'm about to head for faire site to prepare for the grand finale of the 2009 season, and it's also my last chance to remind everyone to PLEASE try to record the front gate pre-show for those of us who cannot see it.

Thank you!!!!!
