Ok Ms. Blue with the darling husband I want to adopt....we set sail for TRF on Thursday around 1PM ish at the latest and will check in at our random hotel. Should put us in the area around 5PM. HOW do we find the camp on Thursday night? (or any other night)? Keep in mind I am completely directionally challenged and have no intentions of camping (my idea of camping is a hotel without room service!)

I also know that SOMEWHERE in this forum was some advice for those driving/parking and wanting to come chill out at the campgrounds until trafflic let up. Can anyone find it? (My search skills need more mojo) or can anyone re-describe it?

In lieu of leaving a trail of gumdrop buttons.....help? :)

Many thanks in advance!

Lets see who gets to this first (o:

McL is very easy to find.  Your first obstacle will be entering through the campground gate and not the main entrance.  That will park you on the correct side of the faire.  To get to the McL camp, Head your vehicle west and drive straight down row 7 or row 8 until you dead end at the campground.  The McL camp will be directly in front of you.  Park anywhere there is space then walk toward the laughter and merry making.

Don't forget that if you come in on Thursday you will have to pay the $20 camping fee.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Kett, it's easy. If you have an issue, call me. I'll give you my number. A lot of times, you won't have to pay the charge if you let them know that you're just coming to visit McLotofus at Row 8. They'll request that you leave an ID, but there really should be no problem. Worst case scenario, you have to pay the 20 bucks and get the in/out pass for the whole weekend. May be easier that way.

Anywho, KP is right. Come into the grounds along the main camping road, and go to row 8. I think someone stole the 8 sign, so look for row 9. We should have the BIG light up, which makes it possible for people to see our camp like a beacon of drunkeness and partying from almost ANY point in the campgrounds.

I think this thread was made secretly for me...with no one knowing it was a secret. I couldn't find my way out of a handbag and well...My ADD wouldn't allow me to get to your camp if I was just pointed in a direction, due to the many camps between yours and where we normally camp...Oh Shiny. Hey, you look like interesting people. HOT WOMAN! Beer, why yes comrade in arms...chair. I would LOVE a beer. Yeah, I am heading toward McLotofus. Oh yeah, I hear they are good people as well. Well, I have to get going soon....Food! I would love some food. A drum! I have a drum. Oh, your HOT WOMAN! wants to dance if I play?..okay...........I will get there eventually I am sure.

Blue, I wish I had those directions when I went Highland wknd. We arrived Friday evening. Did a walkabout around 9pm after camp setup. Saw the craziness but thought *naw* and walked over to the fire circle. "WOW!!"  Stupid me didn't stop to ask. I forgot my phone in the car so I couldn't call Bonny Pearl.
But I was soo happy to meet you and green at the Fellowship Foundry on Saturday. I was hoping to make it out to the camp site again that night but was too tried for I was up since 5am. My boys and Megan (whom you all met with me) said they made it out to your camp and said they had a great time thou they didn't stay long. Sorry we didn't get to see you both again but like I mentioned to you this was Megan's first time at faire and we were trying to get in as much as we could. She had a great time and loved it. It was great meeting you both.

And upon finding McLotofus, I recommend following the rules of Farnham's Freehold- "WARNING!!! Ring bell. Wait. Advance with your Hands Up. Stay on path, avoid mines. We lost three customers last week. We can't afford to lose YOU. No sales tax." ;)
