Non-camping questions

For those of us that don't, or can't camp, where are the nearest motels? Bastrop? Giddings? Does SWFF have a "partner" relationship with any of them?

Also, what will be your policy for non-staying visitors to the camps?

I will be researching the motels and campgrounds close to the Faire to provide contact/reservation information.

Most up-to-date information will be posted on the Yahoo group message base or on the Faire website as Moon Dawg updates it.

 There is a holiday inn express in Elgin. 20 minutes away. no idea what the prices are.

I haven't gone hunting for motels in the area. All I see are the motels along Highway 290 in Giddings as I pass through.

This would be a good opportunity for folks coming into the area from different directions to list what motels they see.

Then, we can contact them to see if they can offer any discount rates for the faire.

I've reseached the state campgrounds in the area, so I have no problem with contacting the motels to see which ones are available and offer a discount. Just give me input on what there is out there.
