It is with a sad heart that I post this.  For those of you who camp and might have had the honor of getting to know Bill Pendley during his time patrolling the campgrounds, that fine, kind-hearted gentleman passed away on Jan. 14.  I can't say enough about how special, honorable, and decent a man he was, but you'll know that already if you ever met him.  I will miss him sorely, and my heart goes out to his beautiful wife, Cristy.

I attach his obituary:  http://www.navasotaexaminer.com/articles/2010/01/20/obituaries/doc4b57367626f45545268787.txt

My condolences to family, friends and everyone who knew him.  This is turning out to be such a sad year already.

Awww.. what a loss. Mr. Bill was truly one of the kindest people I'd ever met. He and his wife pretty much rescued me one night as I was trying to get back to the participants campground from patrons after my group had gotten seperated. I was still just a teenager, and the temperature had dropped, and I swear I expected to be found frozen along the wooden wall the next day because I lost track of where I was and couldn't find the gate in the dark (I'm more than a bit on the blind-side).

I'm sure he will be sorely missed.

So sad to hear this, the officers have always been so nice and helping.
This will be the fourth loss since the year started, it makes the heart really heavy.  :'(
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

It saddens me to hear of these things.  My condolences to his family and friends.  He will be missed.
