So when r we going to do a get together again??  I miss my SP folks and my pretty new outfit.... it's only gotten worn twice!

I know whatcha mean.  Will you be around for ComicPalooza next month?  The organizer is reeeeeaaaallly wanting some SP'ers to attend in full getup.  I'll be attending, but most likely in cosplay as Mamma Gkika of Girl Genius infamy.  Which is gaslight fantasy SP.

FYI, I did receive my iPod wristband.  Very nice work.  Thanks for all your communications help.

Well it depends on the weekend, but for the next month or so, we're pretty full up!  Have lots of ren fairs as it is!!  I was just thinking we could do an invasion or something?  Sherwood and Fourwinds are starting up in a few weeks.  Then Scarby after that...  although it seems Scarby peeps aren't as welcoming to the SP folks... or so I've heard!

Version 2.0 of the hat pin I posted last week or so.(it was on the topper)

Manwariel - Lovely corset, great color and looks like it fits like a charm to boot. You have my congratulations.

Ok, so I've been interested in Steampunk for months...due to money getting an outfit together takes me a bit of time however.
Y'all might remember I posted my little mini witch hat in here...and was born the idea of a Witchy Steampunk Character

Well, not long after that I found this vest...

Last night I bought this white blouse with some ruffles at the neck...

For now this is all I have. Any thoughts, critiques, ideas to spiff it all up a bit?? Is the white blouse ruffly enough? Does the blouse and vest look ok together?

A black skirt or bloomers, little granny boots & striped stockings, which can be found at sockdreams.com.  I love the vest/blouse combo. This is sooooo cute.

A necklace-watch or a watch-pin.  Maybe some gloves...

Cute ensemble. I'd go with some black bloomers. Maybe some accessories? I could see a metal/brassy type broomstick, plus some pouches and small bottles filled with potions hanging from a belt.  :) Ooh, what about a robotic/steampunk cyborg cat curled around a shoulder/ your neck?

Someone linked to this website on the SteamFashion LJ that sells different sorts of bottles and jars, which look like they could work well with your costume. http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp

It's not leather, I got it from Spencer's Gifts in the mall.

Oh, how AWESOME, Tammy!!!  I  love it, and I love the new vest and blouse, also!  I'm wondering if you could dye the shirt a lavender, maybe... in keeping with the whole "witchy" theme, of course.  And some cool lace up (flat) granny boots along with the bloomers, and maybe even a bustle skirt over that with the front hiked up to show the bloomies (or maybe black and purple striped over-the-knee socks or tights)... The gloves could be the black half finger type, maybe in lace, and you could tack several different style pentacle pendants to the skirt.  Oh... and a black cloak, of course, maybe with some interestingly witchy charms tacked on... and maybe a few patches strategically placed, as well.  For accessories... lots of small herb filled leather drawstring pouches strung on your belt for whipping up spells while you're interacting with people, along with any little glass bottles you can find (I have them for my Gypsy and my SP engineer, also), and maybe a few bits of flash paper (kept in something non-flammable, of course!) to wow the 'danes with.  A wand, a Grimoire, a scrying bowl, a pair of pince-nez spectacles with a few optical attachments, a watch pendant with arcane symbols hung from the chain, a set of runes to shake and throw once in a while when you're passing through the pub (because live chicken sacrifices might be frowned upon, even if you really NEED to read the entrails right away... :P ), henna rune spells on the backs of your hands...  You could also have a few tracts on how to avoid being burned at the stake or drowned in the dunking chair to hand out to random people...

Oh... are you wanting to be a stylish witch, or a slightly worn and tattered witch?  Taffeta is always good and witchy, and if it's a bit frayed around the hem, so much the better...  Also, are you a sharp, on-the-ball witch, or a slightly muddled, rather befuddled and just a bit absent-minded witch???  The second one would be more fun to play, and you could have a twig or two in your hair... ;)

Ok, I'm sure I could go on for a while, but that's what I've got at the moment... take any of it that sounds like fun to you and toss the rest, or just toss all of it.  Above all, have fun with it!!!  :D

So comfy, now I just need to remember that I can't bend in this thing. LOL.

That's the problem with corsets... you have to bend at the hips instead of the waist.  I love the hourglass effect, though!  ;)

While it's Victorian & not Steampunk, my friend & I will be dressed up 2 go & see Alice today as well...I'll be wearing my what I call my Mrs. Lovett outfit: red & black pinstripe top, black waist cincher, bustle skirt & black pointy boots. Will post pics when I can... :)
