Flew from Dallas to Southern California Pleasure faire last May.    ;D

Before that it was 4-5 hours to TRF each October.  :D
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Our "home" faire is 3 hours away, and we can only go on Sundays, so we try to get there at least 5 or 6 times throughout the run.

In May, we drove 10 1/2 hours each way to TN for the RenDezvous/Menage Ette Trois.  Worth every minute of it!

In 2007, we planned our vacation around an invasion of BARF.  Left NW Illinois on Thursday evening after work, got to Tampa on Friday evening, about 22 hours on the road (stopped in the wee hours of the morning for a few hours rest, not counted in the 22 hours).  Spent Saturday & Sunday at BARF, on Monday drove to the east coast of Florida where we used to live, and Tuesday morning began the drive home, got home late Wednesday evening.  It was over 3,000 miles round trip.  A wondrous faire with wonderful people.  Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Went to BARF again this year.  Got smarter.  Bought 2 plane tickets.

We're also going to Scarby from NW Illinois.   That's almost 1,000 miles each way.  We're flying.

With age comes wisdom.   ;)

When we finally go to BARF, we are flying.... My husband's best friend lives down there and is attending this year. No $ for us to go. Perhaps next year!

We drove from Waxahachie, Texas, to Ontario, Canada, but I worked for the Joust Troupe for the Ontario Renaissance Festival.

For just visitating: My wife and I flew to Washington, DC to go to the Maryland Renaissance Festival.
Well, we also went for my In-law's 50th wedding anniversary and spent a week at Ocean City, but we really went to visit MdRF!

The beloved and myself flew from Arizona to visit the Kansas City Faire.

996 miles according to Mapquest

This will be my third year going to the Upper Canada Medieval Festival, which is 4-6 hours away. It's 6 hours to get there, because we head up the night before and get stuck in rush hour traffic. It's four hours to come back, because there's no traffic at all after midnight on Sunday.

I flew from Dallas to Minneapolis and visited MNRF in 1996 or 1997.  (Well, I actually spent a week visiting my parents where they live near St. Cloud in the Summer, and we went to the Ren Faire the first weekend - and I took my costume with me to wear (something my parents didn't know I was planning.   ::)  ;D ))

The longest trip that I've gone just for Faire was driving from where I live now (Webster, TX, near NASA-JSC) to Scarborough Faire in 2004.  That's ~250 miles.

The next longest journey was driving from where I used to live (McKinney, TX) to Buffalo Gap (near Abilene, TX) for the West Texas Ren Faire in 1997 & 1998 (or 1998 & 1999).  That's ~225 miles.

Where I used to live, and where I live now, are both around an hour's drive from the "local" Faire (Scarby & TRF).

I drive quite a ways.  I live in Minneapolis MN but work the Bristol faire in Kenosha WI, 394 miles each way.  I work Friday from home so I can leave right before the afternoon rush, stay over Fri - Sun and drive back Monday.  I used to get a hotel, but this year I have an apartment I'm sharing with one of FoF co-directors (there are 2 co-directors, she's one of them).

I also do Janesville and Stronghold, both of which require driving to Chicago to stay with friends.  Sioux Falls faire is about 4 hours away, I hotel since it's only one weekend.

Home faire is MNRF, we are about 50 miles from there..

The furthest we've traveled would probably be to TRF.. Long two days in the car, but well worth it!!

We've also made our way to TNRF and AZRF, but at least we flew to those!!  :)
