I have 3 Pendragon bodices, and I love them!  At Bristol, in the summer, the heat can range from 80 to over 100 degrees.  And I still wear them.  They are so well made.  I also, had great customer service with them.  I bought the XS at the end of the summer a few years ago.  I thought it was too small, but they felt it was the right size for me.  The following summer I wore it once.  I wasn't comfortable in it.  This past summer, I went back and told them, and they gave me new side pieces in a larger size that were much better for me.  I was surprised but very happy they did that.

When I first started ren faire's some gave pendragon a bad review and it turned me off of them for 5 years.  However after a friend of mine had a custom doublet maid by them I gave them a shot. Excelent quality and good customer service.
The custom doublet he bought he got with a paneled side in cased he gained or lost weight.  Thankfully he has lost over 12 inches on his waist.  Pendragon is willing to adjust his doublet for him and put in a new panel so he can keep loosing weight. Like I said great customer service.

As for the heat question, custom doublet freind is VERY heat sensitive. He tends to fuss when he is sweating bullets in TRF heat, HOWEVER his double is black, and he doesn't drink much water.  The inside is lined with cotton, and underlined with cotton Duck cloth. There is a wicking factor but it isn't alot. I'd say it is what you make of it.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Just to let you know I work Stage Crew here in Arizona-Faire has 2 more weeks-And have worn my Pendragon when it was 105 degrees.
I have 2 of them, bought one when I graduated college as a gift to self.
I have nothing but praise for them.

I like Pendragon clothing, however, their sizes run very small.
Their x-large bodice won't fit me at all and would be fine for someone of size 14/15.
They had one 1x bodice that was still too small more like a size 16, I'm a size 18.

I find my pendragon Med fits me fine and I am an XL in the top, a 36 DD and I can lace it totally closed, maybe it is the version I wear VS yours, I ahve one of the custom ones where I Can change my side panels.

Well, I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered said jerkin this morning. Here's hoping I have many opportunities to wear it.

Thanks for your information everyone. It's much appreciated! ;D

If you are willing to pay the extra $20 dollars and wait, you can have one fit to your size.  I have several bodices from them I had to have custom fit.  You can do this online, but I suggest going into a booth and having someone fit you.  I wear a size 22, and have an exceptionally long waist and have found this to be well worth the trouble.

It's on it's way.
But I actually had a freakin' dream last night about getting it and it was perfect. How stupid is that? -lol-
I just had a great first date with someone...and I'm dreaming about a leather jerkin!  ;D ::)

I got it yesterday!
Oh, and wow, it really is beautiful.
It's so very simple, but, man, is it great-looking! :)

No pics yet, sorry. Hopefully soon, though. I'll be wearing another new doublet the first weekend at GARF, but this is most definitely next in the cue.
No regrets. I dig it!
Now...let's jus' hope it's as comfortable 'in the field' as it feels/seems as it may very well be (and it does indeed feel/seem like it will be).

I've worn my Pendragon bodice through several relationships, and still love it as much as the first day I bought it.  Unfortunately, I can't fit into it anymore, but I am hoping to change that!

I finally had the opportunity to wear the Pendragon jerkin yesterday at GARF (first weekend I wanted to wear something else and last weekend it was way too hot and humid to consider being worn).

It was perfectly comfortable. I loved it! I don't regret this purchase in the slightest.
The weather was in the mid to upper 70s (high of 76, with a "feels like" of 77), and a humidity of as high as 65% or so that lowered quite a bit throughout the day.
The Pendragon felt great.
It would have been fine if the temp or humidity was a little bit higher.
However, to be fair, there's no way I would have been able to be remotely comfortable were I to have worn it last weekend. The temps were in the mid to upper 80s (high of 87 that felt like, according to weather.com 89) and the humidity was way up there (though I don't recall exactly). I was wearing a very light and loose and open cotton jerkin/vest I was only barely comfortable, so no way could I have worn the thicker, more closed-off and tighter/more close to the skin Pendragon. No way.

So, as long as the temps stay under about 79 (with the heat index not increasing the temp over that), then it'll be absolutely aces.
