Saw the message boards today. 5-1-10 Periodic Partial lane closures on I-24 W above the Davidson county line. I don't see it on the TDOT site yet.

From the North Carolina DOT:

RALEIGH — The stretch of Interstate 40 in Western North Carolina that has been closed by a rockslide since October reopened Sunday, April 25 at 6 p.m.

Work will continue in the area through the summer as crews complete stabilization efforts – including the installation of rock bolts and anchor mesh – at five additional sites. Both eastbound lanes will be open; however, one westbound lane will be closed for about three miles for this work.

U.S. 64 is Now Open!

Traffic is once again flowing on U.S. 64 in Polk County after five months of work to clear and stabilize two rockslides along the route. Workers completed the work to stabilize and clear the two rockslides along U.S. 64 in the Ocoee Gorge at 11:15 a.m. today and traffic was allowed on U.S. 64 for the first time since November 10, 2009 when the road was completely closed by a massive rockslide at mm 17.6 near TVA Ocoee 2 Dam.

This is the faire/ motel 6 exit so it may affect those coming from chattanooga.

Interstate 24 eastbound in Rutherford County - Between EXIT 78: SR-96 / FRANKLIN-MURFREESBORO (Mile Marker: 77.9) and MILE MARKER 79 (Mile Marker: 79), construction work will temporarily slow traffic every day. This work is expected to be completed by 5/31/2010.

Road Construction stops for memorial day weekend But there will be blasting at the airport in the AM. They said 9:30 and 11:30. By that time I figure any travelers will already be on site or in town.
