I came across this today while looking for period shoe information. Thought some of you might find this interesting.

I've been looking for that shoe for ages! ...

Pretty amazing that it lasted this long! That must have come from some tough-arsed critter.

I just realized last night that this shoe was left in its resting place 2000 years before Moses led the Israelites across the reed sea.

I found this sentence interesting---

But Pinhasi doesn't think it was thrown away. There was discarded material that had been tossed outside the cave, while this pit was inside in the living area. And while the shoe had been worn, it wasn't worn out.

There HAS to be its mate around there....somewhere!

A lost sole...

M'lady and I over the last many years have taken pictures of the single shoes you seem to find around - especially along roadways.  We eventually want to compile them in a book with and were going to title it "Lost Soles"
