So, my husband and I are buying a fixer-upper house.  We need to find a contractor to do the work, and we haven't been having much luck with the people we've called so far.  We also need the bid for the project, well, pretty much yesterday (actually, we need it by next Monday).

Does anyone know any good contractors in the Seattle area that have room in their schedule to meet with us this week?

I know this is VERY random, but any help would be GREATLY appreciated, and would help us both not pull our hair out.

Anyone you call, be sure to check Angies List http://www.angieslist.com/angieslist/. My husband is a general contractor (in Colorado), and is FOREVER having to go out to fix what other GC's messed up in people's homes.

Get several estimates IN WRITING, and be sure to go with reputable contractors/companies. Always buy your own products, the company my husband currently works for marks up materials by 30%!
Make sure the contractor/company is licensed, bonded, and insured... this is for your protection. And I would also highly recommend researching contractors/companies on the internet.

There are a few tips for you anyway. Sorry I can't help with finding a particular contractor/company in your direct area, but feel free to message me if you want more tips or suggestions.
