Elizabeth, Queen of Bohemia.

Why? 1 - you don't see much of the garb so I can do whatever I want with the skirt
2 - My hair fits perfectly. ;)

What country and decade is Molly from?  Maybe all of us on the boards can help!

Molly is a late 12th century English commoner. Her father is a Master in the tailor's guild. They live in a very small village so they are comfortable but not rolling in money. She sews herself and assists in her father's shop. She is unmarried, but has the occasional suitor. She's a bit of a flirt. She enjoys bossing people around, but is VERY deferential to the nobility. She is not so deferential to the Sheriff and Mayor, because they grew up together and she can still beat the tar out of them.

Anything I wear has to have a lot of movement built in, because I do stage combat, and needs to cover a lot of skin because I burn VERY fast.

No preferences on colours, but I should probably stay away from green since we're heading into the rule of Richard the Lionheart, so we might have a bunch of Merry Men running around.

This is not the same dress, but it looks to be the same style.

Hopefully for next season :)

Oooo Elizabeth Bathory...that's one of my dream outfits too.  And it's not one of those over the top noble gowns, but she has such story behind her that I just want it.

So about that skirt I was to have ordered, I'm going to say never buy from Fanplusfriend.com. They sell mostly anime/lolita styled clothing but I really loved a skirt they had to go with a pirate set I'm working on. I put in the credit card info and everything looked great, it looked like I bought it. Then I get an email saying they need me to go to another site to enter in the same credit card info because they could not charge my card the first time. I read up on them quite a bit before ordering and I never saw anyone have this problem, however costume ordered were many times messed up. But I just had a bad feeling, so I ended up not ordering the skirt :/ I am thinking of looking into working with a seamstress to have it custom done, but that's for another time.

But anyhoodle, all these pictures are great! I really hope some day you guys get to make them exactly the way you want them! I've always wanted a painted pair of wings from Fancy Fairy like these

Of course then I'd need to put together a fairy outfit, as I have nothing for it, but planning a new set is always fun :)

A bliaut then!  Bliauts are very easy to dress up or down and you can really have a lot of fun with the design.   It's supposed to "scrunch" up at the waist so you might want to make it long waisted to have that done naturally.

Oh, I know the style that it should be. It's more the accessories and hair style  that somehow aren't "right" yet.

Her story is what drew me to her in the first place (grisly and dark, but definitely fascinating!), and when I saw the portrait I knew what my next gown would look like  :)

I see all these lovely noble gowns, and I start to think I might just be a bit... odd... with my choice.  I've been thinking I might want to make something sewn completely from the bits of leather one might glean from a tanners shop if one were allowed to sweep up the scraps...  A cloak, perhaps, or skirt... or maybe both.

I think a skirt & cloak like that would be quite lovely, Rani Zemirah, and would suit you well!  :)

Oh, thank you, Tygrkat!  I think it would be fun, and I've been gathering bits for quite a while now, but I still have lots to find before I have anywhere near enough.  It's a fun project to contemplate, though.  Still, all these beautiful gowns do kind of make me think it would be fun to have at least one set of upper class garb, at some point!  They're all so lovely, and so fine...  :)

What you might consider is a doublet.  You can see a couple of extant ones in this link  and ladies wearing them in this one.  They are sorely under represented and it would look awesome with a Sherwood green linen or wool skirt.

Isabella, great links! I hadn't seen the Festive Attyre doublet page before (although the Lavinia Fontanai portrait is actually my calendar picture for the month!).

Oh, my!  Now that gives me something altogether different to think about!  Thank you, Isabella!  What amazing links, and what wonderful ideas...  :)
