It looks to me like it's got spring shocks on front and back, but it also looks awfully low to the ground, so I'm guessing they don't have a lot of give to them...  Reminds me of a drag bike, really, so maybe it's only made for the straight and narrow.

Sure is purdy...

I like the colors and the simplicity.  So much Steampunk stuff is over detailed.  I'm not sure I could physically ride it though.  Seems like it should stretch a bit longer or the seat should sit a bit lower.
I hope my life is an epic tale that ends well and everyone likes to read. --Grovdin Dokk

Here's a new offering from Team Sable that incorporates a Harley engine in it's SP design, and it's actually available on the market, while the "Black Widow" in the above link is still only a concept design, and may never see production.

I really like the way the designers of the Black Widow have created a totally new design concept for the frame and struts of the bike, though, and made every SteamPunk (or DieselPunk, if you prefer) element something that is actually intrinsic to the function of the machine, rather than just cosmetic.  You can just look at it and see that it's not your average bike, but something completely new.  I hope their design turns out to be solid, and marketable.  It's gorgeous, even without the connection to SP...

FenCon was a blast.  Not a lot of people were garbed, but those that were - HOOBOY!  There was lots of steamy goodness, a lovely Dr Who, and an even lovelier gentleman in some very different drag.  Cons RAWK!  I attended some boards on, among other things, Victorian sewing techniques, mini top hat making, paper clay head piece making, why Alice in Wonderland is still relevant, a couple of sets of Tom Smith songs, and bought lots of CD's, a new top hat to mod, and a Foglio sketch (yay, me!).  And I finally got a picture of me in my finery:

I hope everyone's weekend was fun!

Well the boy toy and I are taking the plunge into the steampunk madness.
We have decided to attend the FX convention in Orlando next month and since its a free for all we have decided to go steampunk.

We already bought some accessories this weekend, now its time to work on garb and on steaming up those accessories.

Taffy,
don't know why but my computer wasn't showing pictures.
Love the hat, it goes awesome with the jacket.

The HAT!  It's old and kind of tough, but oddly delicate (like me).  I tried throwing some plumes on it, but nothing moved me.  I was asked to (and did) model and explain my outfit by one of the catwalk moderators, but was too whipped to do anything but eat pizza and crawl into bed by the time of the evening masquerade contest.  The skirt is one of the best things I've ever made - not because it's so well done, but because it's so versatile.  I'll post my gray & pink set if the photographer sends it.

Taffy - it was so nice to meet you at the FenCon.  That outfit looked fabulous!

Taffy Saltwater

Redkimba, it was my pleasure.   Meeting someone nice from this board is always a joy.  And thanks!

Do you know John Philip Sousa?   ;)   ;D
Where are those 76 Trombones when you need them?   :o   :D

You're looking good!  I notice that your costume isn't quite as mechanical as some Steampunk outfits ... what character are you depicting?

Why be mundane when you can be a Rennie?!
