Wow. That is all I can say. I hesitate to even ask how many hours worth of work that took. Absolutely. Stunning. (the jaw-dropping icon needs to go here)

Just beautiful. Love the colors. I'm curious too. How many hours did all that work take?

Auryn

Wow
that skirt is absolutely amazing.
I think it looks spot on to the movie, at least from what I can see.

WOW. Add me to the speechless camp. That is unbelievably gorgeous. Where did the inspiration come from, and is there going to be more to the outfit?

The skirt is made for the Pink Ribbon campaign, and will be put out on eBay soon. The Pink Ribbon campaign is for breastcancer awareness. I've had both friends and family struggling with cancer, and I've felt so helpless every time. This is one way I actually can help, by donating whatever the costume goes for to the campaign.

The costume is a replica of what the heroine Christine Daaé wears in the stage version of "Phantom of the Opera". She's a ballet dancer when grand diva Carlotta storms out in a tantrum, and another one suggests Christine can take over. Everyone laughs, but it turns out the little dancer is a nightingale. And for a reason... She's been trained in secret by a mysterious master - the Phantom. The skirt I've made is from when Christine takes over for the diva. The grand skirt is placed on top of another costume during a 10 second blackout, allowing the scene to jump from audition to gala in no time. That is why there's a false bodice on the skirt. But in effect she appears to wear the exact same costume as the diva, which wears the grand skirt and a corseted bodice. This is how the real ones look, worn by the diva and the heroine (and a dancer costume can be seen in the background of that first picture):

I will not make the accompanying ballet dancer costume, so whoever buys it will either have to make it themselves or own one already... There is more about the costume and how it was made here: http://aneafiles.webs.com/newelissa.html

And someone asked how much time I've spend on making it. More or less half a year - but I haven't worked on it every day, of course. In hours.... I honestly don't know. 300 hours, perhaps?

Anea, as usual, you absolutely amaze and inspire me!  =D
