Today we have had both bad and good weather.  It rained in the morning and now is clear and sunny.

Sunny and a high of 87 here in Houston, so I can still wear shorts, which has become an added decision to make in this city in the month of October.

October is one of my favorite months since the Frederisckburg Wine Festival comes right before Halloween.

Long nights are ahead of us. Too bad Texas doesn't have much call for roaring fires in the fireplace.

Fireplace or wood burning stove, which would you prefer to use as a heat source?

Source of any heat is good. I like the old fireplace, even though I don't have one, but my aunt does and the fall and winter are nice times to visit because she'll fire it up and we'll all tell stories and eat and drink by the fire, it's so comforting and takes us back to a time without televisions and computers. It's right in her living room, which the T.V. is there, but she doesn't watch much of it anyhow. When I get a house, I plan on either buying one that has a fireplace, or getting one installed.
