That kirtle is spectacular!!! Love the color, the fit is amazing, and the workmanship... wow. Hats off to you.

(I don't supposed you haven't to get a side shot showing the lacing? I love side lacing. I used it on my kirtle, and it gives such a fantastic look.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.  :D

Valencia I don't have any shots of the side lacing on this one, but my default for it is spiral lace up on both sides through hand made eyelets.

Well I fixed the sleeves and added trim.  Hopefully it does not look colonial anymore.  I used the simplicity pattern for the sleeves.  I did not have enough material for the sleeves so I used something I had already for the back of the sleeves and the panel in the back.  I was trying to decide what to do with the lace around the neck and I tucked it in.  It popped back out on either side and I thought it was cute so I sewed it down that way.  I got the hat off of etsy and added feathers and a strip of matching material.  Does the hat look okay or is it too much?  It is suppose to get cold but if it didn't I think it would be way too hot.  I feel like I have two tapestries hanging of my arms. LOL

Huzzah, Julie!!  Love the hat to pieces. Fabulous. And I love the contrast panel at the back. You look terrific!

Thanks for the compliment.  I wore it to the festival and had some fun.  Thanks everyone for your help on fixing my dress.

Oh my gosh that came out so cute Julia and I think the hat is fun. I'm so glad you got your gown finished in time and enjoyed your first visit to faire in style. :)

LadyStitch

She is an adorable little princess.  ;D
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Rani Zemirah

Jules, DF looked absolutely wonderful last weekend, and you did such an amazing job on her new gown!  Of course, now Scally is lookin' at me like I've been depriving her of something!!!  See what kind of trouble you cause?!?  :P  :D

Oh how adorable! That one with the statue is just precious. She's looking it like, Huh, what do YOU have that I don't and where is the statue of ME? :)

Anna Iram

Pretty dress Julie. I can't tell on my monitor, but it looks dark green?
