it was the people who really knew them that stood by them during the troubling times.  They found out who their real freinds were. 

Oh, how my wife and I have been through that scenario of late... I discovered who my true friends were, and who would throw you under a bus the moment things became inconvenient, and it was surprising in many ways. Paul, all I can say is this- drunken louts, be they male or female, have no business getting indignant when they asshattery they purvey whilst under the influence comes back to haunt them. She deserves to be quite embarrassed by her behaviour.
