well, it just so happens that a tree fell in my back yard about 15 minutes ago. all i need is someone with a truck to come get some of it, i will be cutting  it into manageable pieces in the morning.  it is about 30+ feet tall and 8+ feet around, so there is more than enough firewood, we just have to harvest it

EDIT *****  apparently i am not supposed to do anything until the insurance company  has a chance to check things out. and this being real life and not an insurance tv commercial it will be a couple days .............so that wood is out

My old friend I see you're here
I thought yee had left us for the last of your year,
Yet here ye are ye old man winter,
So now we gather wood, look out, Damn got a splinter.

The blankets are washed an had been put away,
tho we will drag them back out, for our Castle stay.
Wood will be needed For those fires to start,
Hopefully other will aid in this elevensies farce.

All the Rennies are waiting to head down the hill,
To partake once again in this opening thrill.
At Chateau LaRoche We will once again meet,
For food and drinks and new people to greet.

So pack your trunk with all warm garb
Blankets and thermals, get em in your car.
Pyle on the clothing cause I am sure this will be
colder than last years opening breeze.

Yet I assure you, the time to be had,
Will be joyous and generally not too bad.
The writer is sad that he may be knowing,
according to the weather it damn will could be snowing.

So bring ye spirits, ye foods for the lot
Get there early and get ye a spot
Jenga on friday and a big pot of Stew
Furnished by our Humphrey just for ewe.

So as we come to our last final day
I leave you all with one thing to say.
It may be freezing  and just down right cold,
but we are not afraid and we will be bold.

So get ye pirates, ye knights of the KOGT,
Welcome to all to thee Castleteers Elevensies.

jinx

Last night brought brief panic when I couldn't find pumpkin at Kroger, but I managed to find it at Walmart, so there will still be cupcakes with cream cheese icing.  No nuts this time. xD

We're getting everything ready to go, and tonight and tomorrow night should finish it up! Our poor puppy is already quite confused as to what's going on in his house.  xD  We're crazy excited, and thrilled to be seeing everyone! <3

I'll be happy to help BeerSlayer with the firewood expense, and please remember to bring forks, napkins and/or paper towels and paper plates if you can. I'll be bringing quite a few of those items and also I'm bringing coffee for Sunday AM and to help replenish the KOGT coffee stash.

I need to order the wood today so that they can deliver it by Saturday.

If we can get enough people to commit to it I will order the smallest load they will deliver.  $140 will get us a stack of split firewood ten feet long by four feet high.

But so far I have only myself, Lady Hawke On the Hill and one other couple committing to help on buying a load of wood.  To make this happen we need help from more people. Five, Ten or Twenty bucks here and there repeated just a few times and the castle and the castle grounds will be nice and toasty.

I can put 5 or ten into the wood pile. And I have a nice supply of plates, bowls, and eating utensils to bring. It is nice having a Gordon's Food Service outlet less than a mile away. We will have a good time, and enjoy the weekend. The best of company will be there.

I'll help chip in for wood. I refuse to freeze! XD

Humphrey,

Should you wish your branches gone, I will gladly take them off your hands....

Additionally, I will be bringing about half a truck full of wood, so warm shall be on the way.

Additionally, additionally, may......have Mr Conely... "Shakespeare" of OHRF joining us, as he is seemingly in the area.

Its finally here the Castleteers Eve,
My carriage is loaded and ready to leave.
All the blankets are folded and stuffed in the trunk,
along with my swords and all the other junk.

I ready, are you to head down the hill?
To see our good friends, with ale for to swill.
A day of excitement is upon us now,
I woke up this morning and said HOLY COW.

Its time to get moving, to get out of bed
and make my way to that dark black sled.
Ok its a car but who's to say
When It snows this weekend it wont become a sleigh.

Hurry my friends get yourselves all prepared
Get on those clothes and put on in layers
we are waiting for you to make an appearance
and bring your ales we have the clearance.

Humphrey is ready to see us all
Be ready for Jenga and have a ball
Its finally the day to start our year
I am ready I know to see our friends so dear.

I must be going and get a move on
to Chateau LaRoche with my grey Poupon
Yea I said that, I had to fill the spot
Oh yea I also am bringing a cot.

See you all soon or later today
Be careful of your travels and if you can, help pay
For the wood to be had to keep everyone warm
to aid in the ambiance of a castle storm.

there could be 2 inches on the ground sunday morning :(

remember though, we did survive an ice storm :)
