Thanks Rani! I have never seen those...

Any time!  The beaded sections are elastic, so you stretch them across the back of your head, push the combs in where you want your hair held back, and they make a pretty criss-cross pattern that looks like this...

There are several different styles of them now, as well...

Are they hard to get to look that good? My hair is kind of rebellious...

Adriana Rose

enough hair goo and a hand full of bobby pins and any hair will behave lol

They take practice; the fitting in of the combs is NOT intuitive, and it takes a few tries to figure out what way you're supposed to poke them in (and that's from somebody who's pretty experienced at braiding/twisting/etc her own hair into different styles).

Mairte

Adriana Rose, lol, then you havent seen MY hair...it totally has a mind all of its own I think!! :D
I will probably buy a few of these combs and practice, along with the style gem posted.

Hey, they are cheap enough to experiment with.  No big investment required.
I like the fact that the ones at the flea market were beaded with jet, amethyst, garnet and crystal colored beads.  They could pass for a beaded caul if your hair is short enough.
What doesn't kill me-had better run.

Check them out on Ebay.  Saw for as cheap as 99 cents with free shipping.  There are almost 3,000 listings.
