I am sure if I did more searching I may find what I am looking for -

M'Lady and I are looking to put together some pirate garb, since there are times it would be fun.

I only need a shirt and boots, I have other garb to make it all work.  I have found shirts, no problem, but curious about boots.  Since this garb will not be used often, I do not want to spend a ton on boots, but also 'painfully' aware of cheap boots.

I found some on piratebootsonline.com that look doable, around $160.  I have seen boot from less than $100 and up to $450 - I like the $150-$200 range.  Anyone have any experiene with pirateboots.com or any other recommendations.  (M'Lady also found boots here).

I can  not attest to other pirate boots but can honestly say that I love my boots from Willing Soles.  I put in Dr. Scholl's in just for extra padding on the bottom but was very comfy all day long.  And, if I may say, looked fabulous in them!  :-)
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Wish i could give a good recomendation on some pirate bucket boots but the one and only pair i bought i blew out a heel in 6 months. It was a rubber soul with a rubber heel that was air filed. Now i thought it was cause i am close to 300 pounds but talking to others that bought the same ones and are half my size they had the same problem.

Try talking to captain jack on the colorado forum and see where he gets his and price.

Now i have gone more accurate and wear something similar to a buckle shoe that is a leather soul with a wood heel that has a metal horse shoe on the heel that only cost like $80

I am a pirate but I do not wear bucket boots.  I wear rope sandals so that is another option.  That being said a couple of people in my group have ordered from SCAboots and they love them.  Garb the World also sell boot for $150.00.  Hope this helps!

http://www.scaboots.com/Womens-Isabella-Knee-and-Thigh-boots_p_8.htmlthese are what I have and I love them! I have pput them thru one season, and the only drawback I noticed was the leather covering on the heel itself is peeling. They delivered them pretty quickly, too, took about a week and a half.

I have an issue finding pirate boots. I have really tiny wide feet and rather round calves. My issue is that if I find a boot that fits my foot fine, it doesn't fit my calves. Is there a place that can fix this? I've tried boots on at faires before and they've had to go into THE MENS SIZES to fit my foot. And even then they didn't fit well. :/

I got mine from SCAboots.com too. They are on their 3rd season. Though I don't do pirate a lot, the Prodigal Daughter usually wears them whenever she comes out. Sidekick did a minor repair to them this week but otherwise very comfy.

Good luck!

This site has a wide selection of boots that should work for you.  They sell by shoe size and calf size.

I have had my SCAboots pirate boots going on 4 years now.
I wear them to faire and also quite a bit in the mundane world during the winter season- they look AWESOME with some tight jeans.
I put a pair of dr.scholls in them and they are great, my feet don't get tired.

my beloved has had his for 3 years and neither of us have any quality issues with them.

Since I don't do 'pirate' more than one fest per year, and don't really have any use for pirate style boots any other time I bought a pair of costume boots online off Ebay about 4 years ago, I still have them.

I like that they are low heeled, flat with no arch, wide (I am prone to bunions) and comfortable and ran me about $25.00 w s&h.
They are knee high and  zip up over the calf,  and the extra wide cuff either flips down and laces closed over your calf or you can also flip it up to mid thigh and lace it. They are not leather, but I have not had any issues with foot sweating even after standing and walking around for 8 hours a day over a weekend.
Depends on how much you plan to use them, in what conditions (cheap boots don't do well in deep mud) and how much you want to invest.  They would most certainly be ok as temp boots until you find a better pair if you plan to do a LOT of pirate garbing.

So, I've been eyeing these boots for awhile and after buying fabric this weekend for a pirate coat, my hubby pointed out that I need boots.  Does anyone have experience with these?

I'm on a pretty serious budget, definately don't want to spend anymore than this on boots.  Normally, I'd just find some boots at wallyworld or target, but I'm really drawn to these.

Francisco Paula,
I am interested in the shoes you mention, the buckle shoe. I have been thinking of getting some, but don't know where to look. Where did you find yours?
