Another question:  How persnickety are they about garb?  I have a Steampunk bellydancer idea that I'd love to unveil at CoRF but I know some faires are more particular about stuff than others. Thanks!

You have my permission to wear it.

Hey Merlin, thanks for giving my wife  permission to wear her BD outfit  :P

She has my permission too! Your wife is a lovely lady, Al!  ;)  On a serious note (which is hard for me) I don't recall anyone being snarky when we went to CoRF last year. The owner or director or whatever he is, whose name starts with a P that I can't remember, seems to be particularly micro-managing of cast, but ticket buying patrons can do whatever they want in my book.

Though I have to ask, if she comes in steampunk belly dancer mode, are you coming in steampunk drummer mode? That would be so totally awesome!

Thanks Lady Kett!  Hmm, I'm not really sure how a steampunk drummer would look, but I can bring steampunk for one day.  I'll probably bring one of my drums, but I doubt if I'll carry it around all day!

Dad is unable to attend...but anyone else interested in riding the Cog train to the top of Pikes Peak...we are taking the 12:00 train on Friday.

I guess I'll leave my weapons at home... I dont want to try to explain what a Sgain Dubh is to the TSA.

Al, and Cowgrrl, upon further reflection of my post I feel the need to qualify...Cowgrrl is indeed a lovely lady. That was not the non-serious part, only the ribbing that tangentially (is that a word?) hit Merlin.

Since I typed "on a serious note" just after that, I wanted to make sure your lovely lady was not snarling in the background at me! :)

Are ya'll driving up or flying up?

Al-Nimer

LK, I knew you were serious about that part  :)
No, she was not snarling  ;)

We'll be driving up, but I'm not sure about the route yet.  My parents are in NW OK, and we may stay the night there, but it also adds about 100 miles.  We'll definitely see them on the way back.

Merlin, if you need any weapons transported, we'd be more than happy to be your courier!  After all, we are staying in the same hotel  :)

That would be Jim Paradise.  We have been there a few times and I agree, wear whatever you want.  We saw a girl wearing a quite revealing leather fairy thing a couple years back - now where is that picture :)

Cowgrrl,
They're not snarky about garb, as long as it's not SOO revealing. Or too scary. (some have been turned away to change certain pieces that were deemed too scary for the wee ones).
But if a pink Hairy can get in......? You should be golden.
And this years theme tagline is: "Defy Ordinary"

So unveal your best!
Do unlike the rest.
Your creative side, we request!

And then there where the two male dancers that came in just furs hiding their... and nothing more. I got a few pics of them before  they got escourted out to the cotum shop to resnt caps to cover their behinds and some of their front ends. Got pics of them both ways.

As I have it worked out in my brain, it's not too revealing. Stomach & back plus a wee bit of cleavage.

Lady Kett:  No worries. I didn't detect any ill will at all, just a lovely compliment. As one who was verbally bullied all through school I am (by my own admission), a bit hypersensitive but nothing 'pinged'.
