Yesterday, I took myself off the active roster for SOC. Basically, that means I am not available for OCONUS deployments for at least 90 days. I settle into the thought of being a professional college student for a couple of semesters and not having to go overseas till next spring (side-note: between being a PMC operator in a third-world warzone and being a full-time daddy, I promise you, getting shot at is easier! Stay-at-home moms have my utmost respect). No sooner do I announce it and settle in, then TC calls me up offering me a PSD medic position paying $15,500/mo. I had to turn it down until the spring.

GAH! I swear, its like my life is a sitcom for some deity of irony.

Good... keep writing.  It's safer in the long run and will net you more money in case of joint problems... from picking up over weight Scots.
