Pictures from final weekend - Saturday are up.
Sunday & Monday are still in work

Beautiful Work Paul. If I may ask one photographer to another, what lens do you use.  Your portrait work is stunning and something I'm still trying to get a handle on.

Why do I feel like I've worn something like this before?

There is nothing better.

There is a very fine line between hobby & insanity and I crossed it long ago <grin>!

Paul since my father put my first camera in my hands at age 5  I was hooked. I've been at this for over 50 years.   Wanted to study in NYC but my Mum said absolutely not. (the days before internet schools, and Art institutes in every city.  I know mine is insanity, I don't go anywhere without my camera.  Ask Lord Dragon about our 55 mile trip of the west coast of Oregon that took 3 days because I kept stopping and back tracking.

I'm using a Nikon D200  18-200 lens,  I'm just not getting the same depth of field you are getting, and I like your work.  I do great landscapes and product photography. And I love to shoot B & W. I guess we all have our specialties.

Thanks for the impute.  Love your work.

Now now, Paul... the Nikon 70-200 2.8 AFS VRII holds its own quite well with yours.  And besides, your lens won't fit on her camera  ;)

Lady Gryphon...
The wife shoots a Nikon 80-200 2.8 AFS (out of production for about 8 years now) which kicks the 70-200's butt at the apertures Paul is using.  It's a shame they aren't made any more.  The trick is to shoot with limited depth of field, that forces your eyes to concentrate on the detail of the subject.  Both Paul and I are trying for 1-2 feet DOF for optical isolation.

The 80-200 f/2.8 AFS is available on ebay for ~$1350.

Right now, I shoot with a D90, but I'd like one of the new D7000's.
The main problem is finding a telephoto longer than 200mm that is still fast --- without having to pay $4000 + for it.  :o

Thank you one and all.

I'm using a D 200 body with a Nikkor 18-200 DX.  I guess I just need to get closer and not use my Stealth mode any more.  LOL
I keep forgetting that unlike the bikers I'm use to photographing, Rennies like having they likeness taken.

You all do great work, Paul's just caught my eye at the right moment.

Why do I feel like I've worn something like this before?

I've heard the comment that the photos that you all talented people share here is one of the reasons we have so many visitors from out of town. Huzzah!
