Let The Countdown Begin!

Yeah...most of my fires were deliberate. They were never really destructive! Back when gas lights were the norm, we used to take a can of windshield deicer—most often, the filling station wasn't aware we were liberating a can of it—and we would spray the top of the gas lamp until it made a nice "whooshing" sound as it burst into flames. It seemed to have the most visual impact about 3:00 am...

I had a weird streak in me as a teen...I didn't do anything real bad, but there sure seemed to be a lot of people pissed at me. It's a good thing they didn't actually know who they were pissed at. I'd probably still be in jail...

We're not even going to talk about jail...   


Because, you know... someone as pure, innocent and refined as I am (and again... stop laughing...) couldn't POSSIBLY have EVER been in anyplace as rough and common as JAIL!!!   

I've never been caught red handed doing anything.    The cops where i grew up would only leave their cruisers if the thought they had a chance to ambush you.  We knew the woods & back ways so well that we could run them, full tilt, in the dead of night... They needed flashlights, we didn't.  We always knew where they were by the light beams cutting through the trees.    

Well... I'm not admitting to anything, you understand... but if there ever had been any sort of incident that I might have gotten in trouble for, it was all my sisters-in-law's fault!!!  They made me do it!!!  And honestly, she was like, HOURS away from being 21, anyway!!!   

Just as a warning, though... NEVER take anyone underage gambling in Cripple Creek, CO... not even if they will be 21 in less than 12 hours, and it's the only day of your whole trip you can get there, and you're only playing the freakin' NICKEL slots!!! 

But if you decide to ignore my warning and do this anyway... whatever else you do, DO NOT lie to the cop who comes to card them and say they are already 21, because the underage person will invariably cave and admit the truth, and you will all be arrested... and CHARGED WITH CONSPIRACY!!! 


Not that... y'know, this has ever happened to ME, of course...

Perhaps when this year's countdown reaches 99 a new "Countdown 2011!!" thread could be started so it doesn't get lost in all the Loki brewing-cocktail(molotov style) making-flirting-gun toting-OMG we are up to nearly 500 pages-WTF were we talking about again?-<breeeeeaaaath> thread this has degenerated into.

I most certainly DO NOT want a new Countdown thread!!!  This is the only countdown thread on the whole forum that has lasted this long, and it's so very much more FUN than any of the others, as well!!! 

Besides, when it hits 99 there will be a Daily Count (usually by whoever can get here before Fraser, frequently being posted at 12:01am by whatever smart@$$ decides to usurp the count for the day), and we all can chat about whatever preparations, libations, flirtations and/or concatenations occur to us while we're waiting...  

This thread has become an INSTITUTION (because we all know we're crazy)... and I think it even deserves to be stickied!  Since, y'know, it IS the #4 most posted in thread on the whole forum (and the 10th most viewed)!!!

Of course, anyone could start a new thread, if they wanted to... but I'm pretty sure this one will keep going strong, no matter what.

Congrats, Fraser...  Been keeping track, have you?  I have to admit that I almost never look at the post count, but every once in a while I glance up and it's on some crazy new number!  Wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago that Crash got 6000 and we hit page 400?  At this rate we'll be moving up that Stat ladder again shortly... particularly after the official count begins, and everyone comes out of the woodwork! 



And, uhhh... I guess you can laugh... as long as it's WITH me (riiiight...).
