Let The Countdown Begin!

I know... it's been 104 here for the past few days, and I just step out the door and have an instant headache, and nausea a well. It's horrible...

You mean, other than the best skiing on the planet?!?  So would I, and I don't even ski!      I just want to spend a few weeks in a chalet, in the Alps, soaking in all that incredible beauty... both in winter and in summer. 


I spent a while working for RailEurope, and I got to help people plan their European vacations, and my favorite to arrange were always the Swiss trips.  Just the photos alone make me want to be there... (sigh)

I've got some old photos of a vacation to Switzerland in 1978.  We didn't do any skiing, but we did see plenty of snow while having lunch at Piz Gloria, the revolving restaurant on the top of Schilthorn, near Interlaken.  Part of the James Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (1969) was filmed there.

David, it looks very cold there!  I think it might just be the age of the photos, though.  There is a blue cast that could most likely be fixed with a couple of warming filters, and maybe upping the green content just a touch on some of them, as well.  Gorgeous scenery, though...

Nice place to grow up! I don't know why you don't still live there! I loved it when I was up there, but I only stayed until October, then it started getting too cold to camp on the Kenai with the gear I had, so I headed back down to the outside.  It was an  amazing year, though...and I would love to live there, myself.

W.T.F.?  Well... it defies expression... we're not sure what it is or what it'll become... we poured everything about what we knew about loki into the making of W.T.F. and it seems to escape description by side-stepping the issue.  Whatever it becomes ought to be...

(sigh)  Netflix streaming is down, for who knows HOW long this time... so no movies tonight.    Bummer... we were going to watch part 2 of the made-for-tv version of Around the World In 80 Days, with Pierce Brosnan... 


Oh, well... I did get lots of books about cold-working metal for jewelry at the library yesterday, so maybe I'll check them out tonight, instead.  Study is always an interesting use of time!  Particularly when I'm studying some sort of crafting!!!
