Well, you just keep telling yourself that... and I'll sit by and chuckle quietly to myself while I listen to you "singing" (read; screaming) during your morning ablutions...  :P  :D  Not me!!!  You're tougher than I am...  ;)

Besides, I can use that great big stock pot as just one more thing to pack stuff in...  heheh

So, I get to use our old tent at least one last time this summer...  Next weekend my younger brother is having a pig roast potluck out at his place, and there will be several of us camping Sunday night.  Since it's outside the city limits we can have fireworks (since we have no burn ban at the moment), and he's rented a moon bounce for the kids.  I think I need to take all my music out there, though, or no telling what we might end up listening to!  :D

Might make up for missing RenDezvous at least a little... and it's bound to be fun.  Well, once the sun goes down, anyway...  It's 106* out today... and that's before the heat index.  :P

I'd rather suck up 5 minutes of cold than smell like feet and arse. Others would do well to do the same.   :D

You have the right of it, friend!  By the end of AHE, most are on the "ripe" side...

My husband and I are looking at tents and we are finding so many we like. We are also looking at a solar shower, which we thought was kinda cool.

I picked up one of these little guys at Cabelas.  We fill a big pot full of water, heat it on the stove.  We put the pump in the water, the water sits outside the shower tent, and run the hose into the shower tent. Nice hot shower.

That looks cool... and on that same page I just found the biggest shower tent I've ever seen, and for under $100!

I can get pretty clean using the wipes (a LOT of wipes), or even a wash cloth and a bowl of water... but it definitely takes more maneuvering than an actual shower.  I think one of these looks like a sound investment, actually...

Rani, I think I helped Teach setup one of those. Ask him what he's got.

I know the Scoundrels have one, but since they weren't there for CC I can see that Teach and Trinn might have wanted to have their own.  It really is a nice addition to camp!  I didn't notice it that weekend, but I was across the road most of the time, I think...  ;)  :D

I seem to recall most of the ones I've seen so far have been the tiny ones, though, hardly big enough to turn around in, and I don't think I'd like that much... but this one looks nice and roomy, and the pump and hot water cauldron sounds pretty workable... although the on-demand hot water heater sounds pretty awesome, as well!  But that's definitely getting into that area where you'd need a trailer to haul all your goodies... because the on-demand unit uses a full size propane tank, and of course you need to bring enough water for everyone to have at least a quick shower... ::)  Not sure if you saw the tank that the Scoundrels brought during AHE, but they drive a second pick-up so they can haul it (and it pretty much fills the bed), and have it filled at the fire station after they set up camp!  :o

That's a lot of work for a weekend... but then, they have a good size crew, so no one is stuck doing everything, and they get set up pretty quickly.  With Scally and I, it's just the two of us, and we don't usually get many volunteers to help with set-up.  Of course, we try to get in a little early, so everyone is still doing their own set up at the same time.  ::)

Maybe I should work on my timing...  :D

Nah... if I waited then that would just mean we would have even less time to actually be there with everyone!  Oh well... I guess I'll just have to make Scally work harder!  LOL

We saw a neat 2 room shower tent, where the other room could be used as a restroom, so we're even thinking of getting a small travel toilet. It's up in the air, though.

I'm splendid. That is all.

Not a good place for a toilet to be...

Well, if they keep the porta-privies the way they were last year, then they were fine, particularly down at the end where we were.  They're right on the corner of where we camp, also, so they're only 30-50 feet from just about anywhere in our area, and there are usually around 5 of them, I believe.  I've never had to wait for one...  In the busier, more crowded areas of the campground you might, but that's another reason we all like it where we are... people aren't piled on top of each other like out in the center.

If you're going to be doing a lot of primitive camping (with no facilities) then a porta-privie might be nice, until you have to empty it.   :-X  I'm just not at all sure I'd want to deal with that!  Of course, at TRF you can pay the guys who come around in the truck every morning to clean the ones there to empty yours, also... and for a tiny one it would probably only be a few dollars, surely.

I saw that one, also, and I really like the idea of having the two sides, if only for a changing room, but each side is still only 3.5' x 3.5'... and this other one is 4.5' x 4.5, so it just looks like it would be more comfortable for me, personally.  I know I'd be a lot less claustrophobic, anyway...  :o  More expensive for the one sided one, though.  :-\  Figures...
