I'll be picking up a money order to send to Lady Jessica in the morning for my group discount tickets.  Hard to beat $15 each... and I'm hoping they do the free child's tickets again this year, as well.

Note to self and anyone else- do NOT watch Vanishing on 7th Street while in the middle of a blackout (laptop w/spare batteries). Just saying.

That being said, we've been getting a lot of blackouts up here in the Woodlands after the storm rolled through. Price we pay for the rain, I guess, but it's good dry-run training for post-hurricane preps

Nice that you got some rain, though, at least!  We're under a burn ban here, so we're not even sure if there will be the regular fireworks tomorrow night.    Still gonna roast the pig, though... so it's all good!

Sounds like you've got your shopping mojo on right now.  How about trying to find a Nikon D7000 for me, at a few hundred off the the retail ($1200) price.      


As far as being fair, that makes me think about the fact that my parents have been to Disney World several times - taking my niece.  But we never went there on a family vacation when my sister and I were growing up.

What area of the woodlands do you live in?  I live in panther creek and we didn't blackout after the rain yesterday.

Kuykendahl, just south of Woodlands Park Drive. It was an area-wide one stretching from our area down to Dowdell, and over into east Tomball. It was down for about an hour from midnight-thirty till 0125

But, I happened to be watching a movie with this for a synopsis- "An unexplained blackout plunges the city of Detroit into total darkness, and by the time the sun rises, only a few people remain-surrounded by heaps of empty clothing, abandoned cars and lengthening shadows. Well, an hour late to the pig roast... but I've got all the burgers and hotdogs (for the kids and the squeamish ones) ready for the grill, the fixin's sliced and all pretty on the tray, and a huge salad all prepped... not to mention buns, cheese, salad dressing, chips, lemonade, s'mores frixin's and BOOZE all set to go!!! 

Ya'll have a great Independence Day!!!  DON'T set the state on fire again!!!
